The Acting City Attorney delivered to the City Clerk new tunnel agreer..ents as drat&-n by him pursuant to previous request of the 3oard. The City ::n ineer, reporting with respect to chan'ing the course of a portion of the trunk line sewer system as affects Lots 7 and 8, 3lock 11, Tract 1685, which matter was referred to him at the last regular meeting of the Board, pursuant to objection raised by'_`:Trs. C. G. '..filler concerning; the portion of said trunk. line.runnizig across her property and lying; above the ground, advised that it is entirely feasible to place the said sewer on the line betweer. Lots 8 and 9. Block 11, Tract 1685, at a cost between .;300.00 and •;400.00 greater than formerly planned, at which place it :could be entirely,- below the present surface of the ground, except at the manhole in the street, which latter condition would obtain whichever course is followed. after consideration, by general agreement of the ?oard the right -of -way agent was instructed to obtain easement for seder rights- of-way across portions of Lots 9 and 9, 31ock 11, Tract 1685 and to advise '1rs. :.:filler that the City will not require an easement across her property. The Street Superintendent reported that in order to complete the tree plantinE on Z:a.in Street, t.%enty additional trees and stakes are needed. :.loved by Tmstee C4rnon, seconded by Trustee Cerow, that the purchase of twenty trees and stakes to complete tree -lantine on Lain Street be authorized, at a cost not to exceed , >15.00. The receiving of bids for furnishing the City of :1 Segundo with 1500 feet of 6" Class "B" Cast Iron Pipe as advertised for, having heretofore been wade a special order of business for the hour of 7 :45 o'clock P. 14 this date, the President arose and announced the hour of 7 :44 o'clock P. 1.4 and asked if there were any person or persons present who desired to file bids for furnishing the City of 31 Segundo with cast iron pipe as requested in the notice calling for bids for said material. The hour of 7 :45 o'clock P. 11. having arrived and all bids being in, the President declared that the bids for furnishing the City of Ll Segundo with 1500 feet of 6" Class "B" Cast Iron Pipe in accordance with advertisement calling for such bids, were closed. It was then moved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Gerow that the 3oard proceed to open and publicly declare all bids received for furnishing the City of El Segundo with cast iron pipe as advertised for. Carried. Said bids were found and determined by said Board to be as follows, to -wit: Bid of Grinnell Company of the Pacific as follows: "Los Angeles, Cal. June 16, 1925. Noes: :;one. absent i.one. a.L' 1/ BU S L�ES31 It appearing that easements over portions of Lots 7 and 8, lock 49, 31 Segundo, will be required by the City of Ll Segundo in the construction of its sewer, and the 3oard of Trustees havin;, viewed the ground and considered the value of an easement for sewer purposes over the same, it was moved by Trustee Cannon, seconded by :,rustee Gerow, that the right-of-way agent be and he is hereby authorized to tender the owners of Lots 7 and 8, Block 49, :C Segundo, each the sum of fi0.00 for a grant of easement across said property to the City of Segundo. AYoved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Cannon, that this Board of Trustees go on record as extending its thanks to :..'r. Vido Kovacevich of Long beach, California, for the expeditious, practical and satisfactory manner in which he prosecuted and completed the construction of sidewalks and curbs in certain streets within the City of 1 Segundo, pursuant to contracts authorized by Resolutions Of Intention hos. 79 and 85 of the Board of Trustees of this City. Carried. The Superintendent of the -i 7ater Department advised that the puu:p at the pumping station of the Sausal- aedondo .ater Company, which was acquired by this city sometime ago, is of no value to the City, and as it is expensive to operate and its sufficiency is uncertain, he requested permission to sell the sane. It was thereupon moved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Cannon., that the Superintendent of the '.rater Department be authorized to sell the pump now situated at the pump house of the old Sausal- Redondo Water Company for the sum of 4125.00 and that the purchaser thereof be required to remove the same from the well and from the property of the City of Zl Segundo, all at his own expense and upon his own liability. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Anderson, Cannon, Gerow, Love and Binder. =goes: bone. Absent: Done. The City Marshal requested that vacation period for the Police Department begin June 22nd, 1925, and continue during the six weeks following, and that Officer "cCaslin be granted permission to begin his vacation on the 22nd day of June, 1925, and that he be authorized to employ a relief officer during the vacation period. It was thereupon moved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Gerow, that the following resolution be adopted: = i.,SOLV D, that V. C. McCaslin, Traffic Officer, be and he is hereby granted permission to take his customary annual two weeks vacation beginning June ?2nd, 1925, and that the vacation of other officers of the Police Department be taken during the four weeks following the termination of Officer 'I=cCaslin's vacation, and that durinr- the six weeks vacation period of the Police Department, J. a. Cummings be and he is hereby employed as a police officer, to assume the duties of his office June 22nd, 1925. Darin ; - the period of his employment said J. 1. Cummings shall work under the supervision and direction of the City Marshal and he shall be compensated in full for all services rendered as such police officer at the rate of ,16Q.00 per month, which said stLm shall be payable monthly as other city salaries are paid.
