California, was called to order at 7 :00 o'clock P. !'. on the above date, in
the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter ?inder, President
of the Board.

The minutes of adjourned regular meetings of the Board of Trustees held on
the fo'_lowin;s dates, to-wit: June 1st, 1925; June 2nd, 1925; June 3rd, 1925;
and June 4th, 1925, were read. On motion of Trustee Cannon, seconded by
Trustee Tero , vrhich carried unanimously, the said minutes respectively were
approved.

The Chamber of Commerce, having verbally requested the Board of Trustees
to circularize the electors within the *Inglewood union High School District,
but residing without the limits of the City of El Segundo, so as to acquaint them
with the natter of the withdrawal of the M Segundo Grammar School District
from the Inglewood union High School District, and thus obtain, with less friction,
a greater number of signers to the petitions of withdrawal, which will be
circulated within the district in the very near future, the Board, in conjunction
with Acting City Attorney 1 =ills and 'Walter K. Kitchell, Auditor, ooncurring in
the opinion that an expenditure of this -kind is undoubtedly for promotion
purposes and a lawful one, it was moved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee
Cannon, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized to have printed and
mailed to the registered voters of the Inglewood Union High School District,
circular letters respecting the withdrawal of the =:1 Segundo Grammar School
District from said Union. HiE;i School District, the cost of such printing and
mailing not to exceed y250.00. Carried by the following vote:

For the purpose of avoiding in future some misunderstanding which has
been hand with respect to relief of the regular fire engine driver on certain
days and for the better guidance of all officials concerned, it was suggested
that new rules in this connection be, adopted, whereupon it wars moved by
Trustee Cannon, seconded by Trustee Gerow, that the followiniE; resolution be
adopted:
R:;SOLVM, that from and after the adoption hereof and until
the further order of this Board of Trustees, the regular fire
engine driver of the City of E1 Segundo be granted relief from
his duties on all Sundaays and on legal holidays throughout the
year, between the hours of 6:00 A. :.t. on said days and 6:00 A. L%
of the next ensuing day, provided, however, that a relief or
substitute fire engine driver, as hereinafter mentioned, appears
at the fire engine house and assumes control and responsibility
of the fire apparatus before the departure of the regular fire
engine driver on any of said days, and that the absence of the
said regular fire engine driver on days other than those herein
mentioned shall first be approved by the Board of Trustees;

arrange for a competent *rotor vehicle operator in his department
to act as relief or substitute fire engine driver on all Sundays
and on legal holidays throughout the year, and that the said
Street Superintendent instruct the man selected for the work herein
mentioned to report for duty on said days at 6:00 o'clock A. Y.
and to remain on duty until 6:00 A. M- on the following day unless
otherwise sooner relieved by the regular fire engine driver, such
relief, however, to be arranged between the regular and relief
drivers without the city assuming any responsibility as to com-
pensation except as herein stated, and the person so employed as
relief or substitute fire engine driver, shall, during the hours
of such employment, when not actually engaged in sore fire depart-
ment duty, devote a reasonable amount of his time to maintaining
the City Hall building and the rest rooms therein, in a clean
and presentable manner, as well as providing in said rest rooms
an ample supply of toilet necessitites usually furnished by the City;

this Board, the compensation of the relief fire engine driver, who
shall substitute for the regular fire engine driver on the days
and between the hours herein mentioned, shall be the sum of 0.00
for each of said periods thus employed.

Loved by Trustee Cannon, seconded by Trustee Gerow, that from and after
the first day of July, 1925, and until the further order of this Board, the
salary of M. 7. 3togdill as Night Watchman of the Cit--* of Zl Segundo be and the
same is hereby increased from ;160.00 per month to 4175.00 per month, which said
sum shall be in full payment for all services rendered as such :eight Watchman
and shall be payable monthly as other city salaries are paid. Carried by the
following vote:

The ^utter of tree planting within the city vras again brou�t upq '�vo
representatives of the Pioneer Lursery at Lonrovia, %ho were present, advised
the Board of `irustees with respect to the kind of tree to plant and verbally
quoted prices on several. however, action in this connection was deferred
until a laker date.
Moved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Cannon, that the City Clerk
be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to purchase two suitable small
plants or trees, together with containers for the same, to be placed at the
sides of the Last entrance to the City Mall, the cost in total not to exceed �y15.00.

Messrs. A. F. Fitzgerald, Adolph Leuzinger and George A. Johnson,
Commissioners appointed to determine the value of certain real property, ease-
ments over which are needed by the City of F1 Segundo for sewer construction
purposes, filed their report dated June 4th, 1925, covering property in
Blocks 8, 11 and 12, Tract 1685, and in Block 92, Zl Segundb. This report,
having had consideration by the 3oard of Trustees, it was moved by Trustee
Gerow, seconded by Trustee Cannon, that the same be ordered filed and that in
compensating the owners of the real property therein referred to for the
easements to be obtained by the right -of -way, agent, that the values stated in
the said report be increased 50. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Cannon, Gerow and Binder.

moved by Trustee Cannon, seconded by Trustee Gerow, that the meeting adjourn
