1925 APR 01 CC MINA-64 El Segundo, Cal. April 1st, 1925. An adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo, California, was called to order at 4:40 o'clock P. M. on the above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City by Peter E. Binder, President of the Board. ROLL CALL. Trustees Presents Anderson, Love and Binder. Trustees Absent: Cannon and Gerow. Moved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Anderson, that the regular order of business be dispensed with. Carried. Trustee Cannon appeared at the meeting at the hour of 4 :43 o'clock P. M. and took his seat. Mark Smith made written application for a permit to maintain a stand for the dispensing of box lunches from an automobile in the parking on the South side of E1 Segundo Avenue, East of-Richmond Street. It appearing that permission had not been obtained from the Standard Oil Company to stand a vehicle at this location, action was deferred pending receipt of such written permit from the Standard Oil Company. Moved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Anderson, that the following resolution be adopted: WHMLvAS, the electorate of the City of +41 Segundo, California, will shortly be called upon to express its views with reference to the matter of a bond issue for the purpose of constructing and completing a sewer system and disposal plants; AND WHEREAS, this Board of Trustees feels that wide publicity of the plans and other matter concerning such sewer system is essential to an intelligent expression of the citizens of this municipality; NOW TTMEFORE, B3 IT RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized to have a cut of the plan of said proposed sewer system and disposal plants made for publication, at a cost not to exceed ;40.00. Carried by the following votes Ayes: Trustees Anderson, Cannon, Love and Binder. Noes: None. Absent: Trustee Gerow. Moved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Anderson, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to endeavor to secure the use of the Grammar School Auditorium on the evening of April 23rd, 1925, in order to hold a mass meeting for the purpose of explaining to the electors of the City of E1 Segundo the various phases of the proposed sewer system and public park system for the City of Z1 Segundo, and that the Salvation Army Band be engaged to give a concert in the City of El Segundo on said date at a cost not to exceed $75.00. Carried by the following vote: Ayess Trustees Anderson, Cannon, Love and Binder. Noes: None. Absents Trustee Gerow. Moved by Trustee Cannon, seconded by Trustee Love, that the following resolution be adopteds WHEREAS, Iietrbpolitan Plater District Act, known as Senate Bill No. 178,-is now having the consideration of the Senate of the State of Califprnia; AND WHER:AS, in the opinion of this Board of Trustees, the passage of this Act is essential to insure the future agricultural and industrial development of Southern California and the welfare of the people resident therein; NOW THZEMORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to send a telegram to Senator Charles W. Lyon and Assemblyman Walter J. Little, each in care of the State Capitol, Sacramento, California, strongly advocating the passage of said Senate Bill No. 178 and urging the support and endeavors of said Legislators to that end. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Anderson, Cannon, Love and Binder. Noes: None. Absent: Trustee Gerow.
