El Segundo, Cal. March 3rd, 1924.
a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7 :30 o'clock P. M. on the above date in the
Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City by Peter E. Binder, President of
the Board. The City Clerk being absent, Trustee Love was unanimously chosen
Clerk pro -tem.
BOLL CALL.
Trustees Present: Gerow, Love, Smiley and Binder.
Trustees Absent: Rueger.
READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS "_- METING.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 26th day of February, 1924,
were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Trustee Love,
seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the minutes be approved as read. Carried.
WRITTMT COMMUNICATIONS.
The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated:
PACIFIC TZL=, 03L & T�EGRAPH CO., advising that they are investigating the
matter of removal of pole line construction on Hain Street between El Segundo
Avenue and Collirgwood Street, and will advise the result of their investigations.

M, SEGU14DO POST 438, A.AMICAN LRGIO:d, requesting permission to use certain
of the City's tables, knives, sppors, plates and saucers on the evening of March
6th, 1924. Moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Love, that this permission
be granted. Carried.
P:;TITION OF H. J. MYFROId, requesting the improvement of Whiting Street
from Mariposa Avenue to Palm Avenue. Moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee
Love that the following resolution be adopted:
"V T' S, it appears that certain residents and property owners of
the City of E1 Segundo are willing to pay certain moneys in the sum
of $250.26 into the Treasury of the City of 1'1 Segundo, California,
and into the General Fund thereof, for the purpose of causing certain
street improvements within said city to be made, and,
WEEMS, said sum has been deposited with the City (clerk of said
City with instructions to pay the same into said General Fund upon
the adoption of the following:
NOS, THMWORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Street Superintendent be
and he is hereby authorized and instructed to cause the portion of
that certain public street within the City of El Segundo, Down as
„thiting Street, lying and being between Mariposa Avenue and Palm Avenue
to be improved by the construction therein of the following improvement,
to- wit: Macadam Veneer Improvement."
Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Gerow, Love, Smiley and Binder.
Noes: None.

The City Attorney advised that he had prepared a form of release to be
used in connection with the acceptance of deeds by the City for the proposed
extension of 12hiting Street, but that he had not prepared deeds or incurred
expenses in the matter, waiting until definite action had been taken by the Board.
Discussion ensued, following which it was moved by Trustee Smiley,-seconded by
Trustee Gerow that the ¢ity Attorney take no further action in the matter of the
proposed Whiting Street Extension until the further order of this Board and that
the Certificate which was given to the City Attorney by the City Clerk be returned
to said City Clerk. Carried.
The City Attorney advised that he had heard nothing further from the
California Title Company with reference to the title to the real property to be
sold to the City of E1 Segundo by the Sausal- Redondo Water Company, but that he
expected to hear something definite within the next few days.

At the request of Trustee Rueger that motorists be cautioned to approach
the alley- betr:een Iain and Ric., —pond :streets running from Franklin to Grand Avenue at
a reduced speed owin to the large nunber of mercantile vehicles usin- the alley and
,ate. :-.ew of the entrance on Grand avenue, it was moved by Trustee bhiley,
seconded by Trustee Gerov, that the Street Superintendent be and he is hereby instructed
to have the word "SLOII painted on the pavement just west of the Grand Avenue entrance
to the above mentioned alley. Carried by the following vote:

The ''later Superintendent expressed his need of another switch panel board
at the 'Y"anicipal ppuumping plant, and it was moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded py Trustee
Love that the Superintendent of the Water Department be and he is hereby authorized
to purchase one switch panel board at a cost not to exceed y200.00. Carried by the
following vote:
