1924 JUL 18 CC MIN�i F X El Segundo, Cal. July 16th, 1924. An adjourned regular meetinb of the Board of Trustees of the City cf E1 Segundo, California,, was called to order at 2 :00 o'clock P. Y. on the above date in the Council Chamber of the City Hall by Peter E. Binder, President of the Board. ROLL CALL. Trustees Present: Anderson, Cannon, Gerow, Love and Binder. Trustees Absent: None. Moved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Love, that the regular order of busihess be dispensed with. Carried. Krause had quoted 000.00 and X175.00 respectively for auditing the books and records of the City of E1 Segundo for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 1924. Moved by Srustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Cannon that A. F. Krause be and he is hereby awarded the work of auditing the books and records of the City of E1 Segundo for the fiscal year enlir.o Jure 30th, 1924, at the sum of x175.00. Consideration of the bids received July 15th, 1924 for furnishing the City of G7 El Segundo with motor trucks in accordance with advertisements therefor was then taker_ up. It being difficult to determine from the wording of some of the bids exactly what the bidder intended to furnish and therefore impossible for the Board of Trustees to judge of the relative merits of the bids, it was roved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Anderson, that further consideration of said bids be postponed until %esday, the 22nd day of July, 1924, at the hour of 6 :45 o'clock P. L:. and that prior to said meeting, Trustee Gerow and the Street Superintendent be and they are hereby requested to confer with the various bidders for the purpose of obtaining information which will clarify their respective bids. Stone of the firm of Olmsted & Gillelen, bein�n the Council Chamber, he was requested to state to the Board the attitude of his firm toward the contention of the aoard of Trustees that a material deduction should be made from the claim of Olmsted & Gillelen owing to certain figures incorporated in the estimate of the value of the -1 Segundo eater Company made by said firm prior to the purchase of said dater Company by the City of E1 Segundo. ".1r. Stone took the position that his firm was not obligated in this particular, legally or rorally,' but that in order to terminate the controversy and effect early settlement, he would be willing to deduct from the claim 8 or the amount in controversy, which would be V146.56. This adjustment not being satisfactory with the Board, it was moved by Trustee Cannon, seconded by Trustee Anderson, that further consideration Of the Clain of Olmsted i Gillelen be deferred until Tuesday, the 22nd day of July, 192A., and that the City Attorney be consulted as to the provisions of the contract with said firm.
