El Segundo, Cal. August 25th, 1924.
An adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of El
Segundo, California, was called to order at 4:40 o'clock P. M. on the above date
in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City by Peter E. Binder, President
of the Board.
ROLL CALL.
Trustees Present: Anderson, Gerow, Love and Binder.
Trustees Absent: Cannon.
Trustee Cannon appeared at the meeting at the hour of 4:45 o'clock P. M.
and took his seat.
By general consent the regular order of business was dispensed with.
Loved by.Trustee Cannon, seconded by Trustee Love, that a warrant in the sum
of y150.00 be dravm -on the General Fund payable to the Uity Clerk of the City of El
Segundo for the purpose of increasing his Petty Cash Fund and that the 9ity Treasurer
be authorized to honor the same upon presentation. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Anderson, Cannon, Gerow, Love and Binder.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
;loved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Love, that Resolution No. 75,
entitled:
"A RESOLUTION OF HE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE RATE OF TALES FOR
SAID CITY SUFFICIENT TO RAISE THE AMOUNT OF MONEY FIRED
BY THE SAID BOARD IN ORDINANCE NO. 109 THEE?''' F, PASSED
AND ADOPTED ON THE 19TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1924, AND THE
EXPENSE OF COLLECTION OF SAID AMOUNT, THE SAID RATE HMEIN
FIXED BEING THE RATE OF TARES IN SAID CITY FOR THE CURREP;T
YEAR 1924 -1925,
which was read, be adopted. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Anderson, Cannon, Gerow, Love and Binder.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
Trustee Anderso= advised that several of the owners in Blocks 54 and 79 of
the City'of E1 Segundo had requested the preparation of petitions calling for the
improvement of the alleys in said blocks with the customary oil and rock improvement.
Having anticipated the request, the City Engineer had ready an estimate indicating
that said work would cost $297.00 for each block. It was thereupon moved by Trustee
Gerow, seconded by Trustee Anderson, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized
to prepare petitions in the customary manner with reference to the alleys in Blocks
54 and 79 and to deliver said petitions to the persons requesting the same. Carried.
Considerable discussion was had concerning the opening of Fast and Nest
streets through the acre lots in the various blocks between Palm Avenue and Collingwood
Street. The Board being unanimous in the opinion that outlets of some kind must
be provided for acre subdividers and for the persons owning lots in subdivided acres
and that East and crest streets would be more practical, not only for such individual
owners, but for the general public as well, it was moved by Trustee Gerow, seconded
by Trustee Anderson, that the City Engineer be and he is hereby instructed to prepare
descriptions of such real property as will be needed for such streets for use by the
City Attorney in the preparation of whatever legal procedure becomes necessary and
that in addition a man be employed to procure such rights -of -way as appear necessary
from the Engineer's diagram when completed. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Anderson, Cannon, Gerow, Love and Binder.
Noes: None.
Absent: None..

Trustee Love was excused at this point, the hour being 6:07 o'clock P. Y.

allowed and warrants drawn on the respective finds covering the same. Carried by

The President announced that in view of the passage and adoption of
Ordinance No. 107, the next regular meeting of the Board of Trustees would be held
on Friday, August 29th, 1924, at 7 :00 o'clock P. M. It was thereupon moved by
Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Cannon, that this meeting adjourn. Carried.
