An adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City.of E1 Segundo,
California, was called to order at 11 :00 o'clock A. M. on the above date in the
Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City by William Co Bryson, President of the
Board.
ROLL CALL.
Trustees Present: Gerow, Rueger, Smiley and Bryson.
Trustees Absent: Binder.
Moved by Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Gerow, that the regular order of
business be dispensed with. Carried.

Moved by Trustee Rue ger, seconded by Trustee Smiley that the Street Superintendent
and the Health-Officer be- and they are hereby authorized to attend the Convention
of California Municipalities to be held at Coronado, California, September 10th to
14th, 19239 inclusive and to file their demands for their actual necessary expenses
In connection with attendance at said League. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Gerow, Rueger, Smiley and Bryson.
Noes: Nome.
Absent: Trustee Binder.
The Board discussed certain complaints received concerning the manner in which the
office of City Marshal is being filed and by general consent deferred any action
In the matter pending a meeting at which the entire membership of the Board would be
present.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this session, it was moved by
Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the meeting adjourn until the hour
of 4:15 P. M. September 7th, 1923. Carried.

Moved by Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Binder, that the demands be allowed
and warrants drawn on the General Fund for the same. -Carried by the following votes

Moved by Trustee Hueger, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the offices of City
Marshal and Traffic Officer as at present held by A. Farrell be and the same are
hereby declared vacant as of-September 7th, 1923 at midnight. Carried.
Moved by Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that until the further
order of this Board, R. T. Hutchins be and he is hereby appointed City Marshal of
the City of E1 Segundo, to assume the duties of his office September 8th, 1923 upon
his taking and subscribing the constitutional oath of office and filing his required
bond. Said appointee shall receive as compensation in full for all services rendered
as said City Marshal the stmt of $50.00 per month, thich said aura shall be payable
monthly as other oitjr salaries are paid. Carried by the following votes
Ayes: Trustees Binder, Gerow, Ravager, Smiley and Bryson.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
Moved by Trustee Rusger, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the salary of R. T.
Hutchins as Building, Plumbing and Electrical Inspector be and the same is changed
effective September 8th, 1923, from X50.00 per month to $5.00 per month. Carried i
by the following vote: Ayess Trustees Binder, Gerow, Rueger, Smiley and Bryson.
Noes: None. Absents None.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it was moved by
Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the meeting adjourn. Carried.
