An adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of E1
Segundo, California, was called to order at 11 :00 o'clock A. Me on the above date
in the Council, Chamber of the City Hall of said City by William C. Bryson, President
of the Board.
ROLL CALL.
Trustees Present: Gerow, Rueger and Bryson.
Trustees Absent: Binder and Smiley.
Moved by Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Gerow, that the regular arder of
business be dispensed with. Carried.
The attention of the Board of Trustees was called to the fact that the City
Council of the City of Los Angeles had adopted a report of the Board of Public Works
granting to Titus Alexander a lease on a portion of the City of Los Angeles Hyperion
property for pleasure resort purposes. It appearing from discussion that a pleasure
resort conducted on the beach adjacent to the highway running from E1 Segundo to the
southerly beaches would endanger life and property by the congestion of vehicular
traffic, it was moved by Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Gerow that the City Clerk
of the City of E1 Segundo be and he is hereby instructed to communicate with the City
Council of the City of Los Angeles, advising then of the facts and of the necessity
of policing said highway in event such a resort is operated. Carried.
It was then moved by Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Gerow, that the
City Clerk be and, he is hereby instructed to communicate with the Board of Public
Works of the City of Los Angeles with respect to the proposed leasing of certain of
the City of Los Angeles Hyperion property to Titus Alexander for pleasure resort
purposes, asking said Public 'Works Committee to arrange for a time and place of
meeting a Committee from the City of E1 Segundo. Carried.
It appearing that a number of complaints have been registered as to the
condition of the canvas floor covering in the auditorium and it appearing impractical
to patch or otherwise repair same, it was moved by Trustee Rueger, seconded by
Trustee Gerow, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby instructed to advertise for
bids on a suitable canvas floor covering for the floor of the city hall auditorium.
Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Gerow, Rueger and Bryson.
Noes: None.
Absent: Trustees Binder and Smiley.
Moved by Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Gerow, that the Superintendent
of the .Dater Department be and he is hereby authorized to purchase for installation
and use in the dwelling house ovmed by the City and located at the reservoir site
stationary wash tubs with necessary fittings and accessories at a cost not to exceed

30.00. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Gerow, Rueger and Bryson.
Noes: None.
Absent: Trustees Binder and Smiley.
Moved by Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Gerow, that the City Clerk be
and he is hereby authorized to purchase from the American Rubber Manufacturing Co.
through Daniels - Murphy Hardware Company 250 feet of 2 -1/2" double - jacketed Crackerjack
Brand hose at a cost not to exceed 9299.00. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Gerow, Rueger and Bryson.
Noes: None.
Absent: Trustees Binder and Smiley.
The Fire Chief having submitted a list of equipment needed by his
_ Department, it was moved by Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Gerow, that the City
Clerk be and he is hereby authorized to purchase fire department accessories as
requested by the Fire Chief at a cost not to exceed X245.00. Carried by the following
vote:

Coved by Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Gerow, that the Street
Superintendent be and he is hereby instructed to investigate the matter of the request
of ?wire Shirley McCoy that a certain earth bank in front of his premises on the West
side of Main Street between Palm and Staple Avenues, a portion of which is'in the
public street, be removed, and report to the Board at its next regular meeting.
Carried.
210 further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it was
moved by Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Geron, that the meeting adjourn.
Carried.
