An adjourned regular meeting of the 3oard of Trustees of the City
of El Segundo, California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock = ., on
the above date in the Council Chamber of the City _Hall of said city
by William C. Bryson, President oi' the 3oard.

READING OF _32NUTES OF PREVIOUS :.STING.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 31st day o= October,
1922, were read without errors or omissions being noted. It was moved
by Trustee Davis, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the minutes be approved
as read. Carried.
WRITTEN COLE:UNICATIONS.
The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated:
T. J. "PEST, President Board of Trustees, City of Calexico, ex-
tending an invitation to the municipal officers of this city to attend an
International Cotton Pageant in said City on November 10th, 1922. Ordered
filed.
REGIONAL PLAITING CON=EL, =TCE, announcing a meeting of said con-
ference in Los Angeles at the Los Angeles City Club, beginning at Noon,
November 25th, 1922. Ordered filed.
TARS. HALLIE GREGORY, Chairman of a Committee of the Woman's. Civic
Improvement Club of E1 Segundo, asking permission to use some of the Cit;r's
dishes and banquet tables on November 7th, 1922. 21oved by Trustee
Davis, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that this permission be granted.

REPORTS OF STAITDIivG COIMITTEES.
Trustee Davis of the Public Safety Committee announced that he is
arranging for talks on public health matters and that the first of a
series of lectures will be given by a county public health nurse at a
joint meeting of local ';omen's Clubs and that Dr. Pomeroy, County Health
Officer, will be the second speaker.
Trustee Ptueger of the Public '.orks Committee reported t11at his
attention had been called to the desirability of placing a red light on
the `pest side of Concord Street in front of the -:filkie Apartments, as
a yarning to motorists not familiar with the`road that there is an off-
set. Moved by Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the
City Clerk communicate with James D. Hazzard, Safety Engineer and the
Automo;)ile Club of southern California, for the purpose of obtaining some
data and p_ices on flashers, with the vier of erecting one on Concord
Street near Grand Avenue. Carried,
1,loved by Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the
Street Superintendent be and he is hereby instructed to remove from the
intersection of Lranklin Avenue and _.ichmond Street the traffic button
now at said point and to place in lieu the =•eof four buttons equally
distant between curbs on each side of the intersection. Carried by the
following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Davis, Rueger, Smiley and Bryson.
Noes: Nonp.
Absent: Trustee Binder.

REPORTS OF OPPICERS AND SPACIAL COIF ;?ITT LS.
Tr,.stee Davis of the Public Safety Committee returned to the Board
the draft of the Building Ordinance he has had in his possession, advising
the Board that it is his belief that the Board should amend the ordinance
on recommendation of the Building Inspector. Following disCUssion, it
was moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee.Rueger, that the City
Clem be instructed to obtain copies of building ordinances from
surrounding cities having populations up to about five thousand. Carried.
Trustee Binder appeared at the meeting at the hour of 7:23 o'clock
P. M. and .took his seat.

I:Ioved by Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Davis, that the unpaid
balance due the Gamewell Fire Alarm Telegraph Company for the installation
of the Diaphone Outfit be paid, so that the city might obtain the discount
allowed as per contract with that company. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Binder, Davis, Rueger, Smiley and Bryson.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
Loved by Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the Street
Superintendent be and he is hereby instructed to remove the City's benches
from the grounds near the band stand to the municipal warehouse, ,o that
same may be preserved during the winter months. Carried.
The Clerk advised that the Street Department needed a tarpaulin to
cover the eight -ton roller. Moved by Trustee Ruege±•, seconded by
Trustee Smiley, that the City Clerk be instructed to obtain prices on
a tarpaulin for the eight -ton roller. Carried.

coupon books for use of the Street Department. Carried by the
