"r. on the above date in the Council Chamber of the Cit -;, Hall by)William C. Bryson, resident of the Board. ROLL CALL., Trustees Present: Binder, Davis, Smiley and Bryson. Trustees Absent: Rueg er. READING OF MIlTU.PES OF PREVIOUS IMTING. The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 17th day of I.-Tay, 1922 were read without error or omission being noted and were approved upon motion of Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Davis, which carried. ;j'RITTEIT CO 217JNICAl ONS. AUTOTIOBILE CLUB OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, requesting the Board's permission to place traffic direction signs upon brackets to be affixed to the pole located in the center of the intersection of Main Street and Grand Avenue and explaining their reasons therefor. Moved by Trustee Binder; seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the Automobile Club of Southern California be granted permission to erect traffic direction signs upon brackets to be affixed to the pole in the intersection of lain Street and Grand Avenue. Trustee Rueg,er of the Public •;orks Committee dretir attention to the fact that the dip in the.west side of Whiting Street at Franklin Avenue, which was constructed for the purpose of ct.rrying storm craters south. on '.7hiting Street is sufficiently sharp to cause possible injury to vehicles which might cross the same at ordinary spped and he believed that this dip should be widened. It was moved by Trustee Smiler, seconded by Trustee Davis, that the matter be referred to the )treet Superintendent of the City of El Segundo. Motion carried. Trustee Bryson advised 'having been unable to investigate the matter of widening the doors to the fire engine room and repairing the arch above said door and requested an additional week in which to render the report. The Clerk advised that the owner of the lot on the Southeast corner of Franklin Avenue and Loma Vista Street contemplates the erection of one or more dwellings on said lot in the near future and is desirous that Franklin Avenue from the alley West of biting Street to Loma Vista Street be improved and requests that a petition be pre- pared showing the amount of money the Board desires the property owners to contribute toward such an improvement. The Clerl_,, = eported that the Street Suiuerintendent's estimate of the cost of the improvement is 4198.00. It was moved b;,• Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Smiley,. that a petition for the improvement of said street be prepared on a basis of the property oviners paying one -third of the estimated cost. Carried. The Street Superintendent advised the Board that mantis requests axe being made for the use of Street Department's tools and lie e.sked the Board's attitude in the matter. It was moved by Trustee Rueger, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the Street Superintendent be and he is hereby authorized to loan to citizens of E1 Segundo in emergencies or whenever in his judgment it is deemed necessary, small tools of the City of T:1 Segundo, in charge of the Street Department, providing the borrower deposits with said Street Superintendent a sum equallying approximately the cost of such tools or equipment. Carried. Trustee Bryson advised the Board that a number of ladies, desirous of organizing a ladies club, requested the use of the City Hall Auditor- ium on the afternoon of May 31st, 1922. Loved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Binder, that this permission be granted, without charge. Carried No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it was moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Davis,'that the me --tint adjourn. Carried.
