An adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the
City of El Segundo, California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock
P. i.:. on the above date in the Uouncil Chamber of the City gall by
Carl E. Rueger, President of the Board.
ROLL CALL.
Trustees Present: Binder, Bryson, Davis, and Rueger.
Trustees Absent: Smiley.
.Moved by Trustee Davis, seconded by Trustee Bryson, that the
regular order of business be dispensed with. Carried.
Following a lengthy discussion of the suggested election for the
purpose of voting bonds to acquire a municipal water works, in which
the incompleteness of the report rendered by Olmsted & Gillellen was
noted, by general consent the clerk was instructed to request Olmstead
Gillelen to have a representative present at the meeting of the Board
to be held on Stepember 7th, 1921 and that they furnish two additional
blue prints of the map which accompanied their supplementary report
filed with the Hoard August 24th, 1921.

and after the first day of September, 1921, and until the further
order of this Board, the salary of Clyde Wood:*iorth as City Attorney

roved by Trustee Binder, seconded by Trustee Bryson, that the
following resolution be adopted:
"WhEiiEAS, it appears that certain residents and
property owners of the City of Z1 Segundo are willing
to pay certain moneys in-the sum of 6147.89 into the
Treasury of the.uity of E1 Segundo, California, and
into the General Fund thereof, for the purpose of
causing certain street improvements within said city
to be made, and,
WHEREAS, said sum has been deposited with the
City Ulerk of said city with instructions to pay the
same into Laid General rund upon the adoption of the
following:
IOW THERLr'ORE, BE IT ELSOLVED; That the Street
Superintendent be and he is hereby authorized and
instructed to cause the portion of that certain public
street within the city of E1 Segundo, known as Walnut
Avenue, lying and being East of the.Easterly line of
Sheldon Street a distance of 588.89 feet, to be im-
proved by the construction therein of the following
improvement, to —wit: An improvement similar in character
to that constructed in Palm Avenue west from Liain Street ".

following resolution be adopted:

MWIEREAS it appears that certain residents d

California, and into the General vund thereof, for
the purpose of causing certain street improvements
within said city to be made, and,
WHEREAS, said sum has been deposited with the

the same into said General Fund upon the adoption
of the following:
14017 TIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Street
Superintendent be and he,is hereby authorized and

public street within the City of E1 Segundo, known
as the alley from Grand to rranklin 6treet, lying
and being between 'Meriting and Virginia Street, to be
improved by the construction therein of the following
improvement, to- wit: An improvement similar in
character to that constructed on 'fhiting Street, west
of Grand Avenue ".

The L:arshal announced the appointment of J. P. ualone as
Deputy iarshal,. requesting the Board's approval of the same. Moved
by Trustee Bryson, seconded by Trustee Davis, that the appointment
of J. F. :.:alone as Deputy Zarshal be and the same is hereby approved.
Carried.
Uoved by Trustee Davis, seconded by.'Trustee Bryson, that
the city Engineer be and he is hereby instructed to furnish the board
With an estimate of the cost of improving the alley running from
Franklin to El Segundo Avenue and being between Concord and Rich-
mond Streets with a rock and oil surface. Carried by the following
vote:
Ayes: 'Trustees hinder, Bryson, Davis and Rueger.

Absent: 'Trustee Smiley.
Trustee Davis drew.the Hoard's attention to the necessity
of the Uity adopting some means of collecting and disposing of com-
bustible rubbish and after discussing the matter, by general consent
it was referred to Trustee Davis to find a location for burning such
debris that the City might collect.
Loved by Trustee Binder, seconded by 'Trustee Bryson, that
11eva L. Elsey be granted two weeks vacation beginning Sept. 16, 1921.
Carried by the following vote:
Aves: Trustees hinder, Bryson, Davis and Rueger.
Noes: Gone,
Absent: 'Trustee.Smiley.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this
meeting, it was moved by 'Trustee Davis, seconded by Trustee Bryson,
that the meeting adjourn. Uarried.
