1921 OCT 13 CC MINEl Segundo, Cal. Oct. 13, 1921. A regular meeting of the Hoard of 'Trustees of the City of 14 Segundo, California, was called to order at 7 :30 o'clock P. L. on the above date in the Council Chamber o_`' the City Hall by the City Clerk, the :°resident of the Board being absent. Trustee William C. The minutes of the regular meeting held October 5th, 1921 were read. lio errors or omissions being noted, it was moved by 'Trustee Binder, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the minutes?be approved as read. Carried. Trustee Davis appeared at the meeting at this time and took his seat, the hour being, 7:40 o'clock P. 1.i. The Board balloted secretly upon the candidates and &d Lontiel havinz received the larger number of votes, it was moved by Trustee Davis, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the following resolution be adopted: "RESOLVED, That L;-T. Ed Liontiel be appointed to the position of Right Watchman and that his selection for the position be declared unanimius, and 3E IT _ ?URTF :R ti'60L VTLAD that said appointee shall assume the duties of his office on the 1 th day of Jetober, 1921, and until the farther order of this Board shall receive as compensation in full for all services rendered as iyight Watchman the sum of 4140.00 per month, payable monthly as other city salaries are paid ". Trustee 3avis drew attention to a request made by the ;.:arshal for additional e,^_uipment on the police motorcycle, such additional equipment being a motor generator and magneto, the cost of which 'will amount to ;47.50 installed. 3y :general consent the matter was referred to the 2uolic Safety Committee. .u'�CI__�L CJi4..I 'he City At reported having attended the hearing of the �jwcific .'lectric _- ;ailc- ay Company before the _railroad Commission for an increase in rates, but that nothing was recormiended affecting the lines serving the City of .1 aegundo. The city Clerk reported 'having written various suppliers concerning furnishing the City with electrically lighted street sins. J'he City Clerk advised having ordered the Southern California Edison :;ompany to install street lights as directed by the Board at the last regular meetin_; and that the oouthern California 'dison Company had informed him by letter that they were attending to the matter.
