A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo, California, was called to order at 7:30 o'clock P. a. on the above date in the Council Chamber of the City "mall by Carl E. Rueger, President of the Board. ROLL CALL. Trustees Present: Binder, Smiley and Rueger. Trustees Absent: Bryson and Davis. READING OF uIJUTES OF PREVIOUS :uEETIIJG. T��e minutes of the regular meeting held on the 17th day of August, 1921 were read without error or omission being noted and it was moved b,,, Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Binder that the minutes be approved as read. Carried. NRITTEN UO;.iiiUNICATIONS. The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated: OLiZTBAD & GILLELEN, dated August 23rd, 1921, submitting a supple- mentary report to the one filed by them on July 27th, 1921; said supplementary report being accompanied by a map known as ;iap No. 3. Ordered filed. LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA UUNICIPALITIES, announcing a convention of said organization to be held at Santa Monica, California, September 27th to September 30th, 1921. Ordered filed. None. None. ORAL UO=UNICATIONS. REPORTS OF STANDING UOliilITTEES. REPORTS OF OFFICERS & SPECIAL UO"WITTEES. City Marshal Kidwell advised the Board that the parts taken from the motorcycle when it was recently damaged are in storage at the Harley — Davidson Sales Agency in Los Angeles and that one of the employees of the institution had offered $20.00 for the same. It was moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Binder that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to dispose bf the damaged parts recently removed from the Police Department motorcycle for a sum not less than $20.00. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Binder, Smiley and Rueger. Noes: None. Absent: Trustees Bryson and Davis. PAYING BILLS. Moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Binder, that Resolution No. '38, entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF Tt.E -CITY OF EL SEGU DO, CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE RATE OF TAXES FOR SAID CITY SUFF ICI= TO RAISE Tr.E AUOUNT OF =NEY FIXED BY THE -SAID BOARD IN ORDINANCE NO. 82 THEREOF, PASSED ON THE 17th DAY OF AUGUST, 1921, AND THE EXPENSE OF COLLECTION OF SAID AMOUNT, THE SAID RATE hEREIN FIXED BEING THE RATE OF TAXES IN SAID CITY FOR THE CURRENT YEAR 1921 - 19224, which was read, be adopted. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Binder, Smiley and Rueger. Noes: None. Absent: Trustees Bryson and Davis. Moved by Trustee Binder, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that a shelf or bench be erected in the fire apparatus-room to which the motor generator set may be safely and securely anchored and that the electric wiring from the electric light socket to said generator set be rerun. Carried by the following vote: Ayes., Trustees Binder, Smiley and Rueger. Noes,.-, None. Absent: Trustees Bryson and Davis. It appearing that the City will be without Relief Fire Engine Drivers after August 25th, 1921 unless new men are appointed, it was moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Binder, that the matter be referred to the Public Safety Committee for attention. Carried. Lioved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Hinder, that the City Clerk be and he is-hereb,; instructed to communicate with Nessrs. L. D. Dodds, W. H. Golliher and V. W. Robbins with a view of ascertaining what they will charge per hour for revising the Building Ordinance.. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Binder, Smiley and Rueger. Noes: None. Absent: Trustees Bryson and Davis. moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Binder that the amount heretofore appropriated for the purchase of a lawn mower be increased from $10.00 to $12.50. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Binder, Smiley and Rueger. Noes: None. Absent; Trustees Bryson and•ijavis. No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it was moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Binder, that the meeting adjourn. Carried.
