A regular meeting of the 3oard of Trustees of the City of
.&l Segundo was called to order at 7 :30 o'clock P. iu. on the above date
in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, by Carl E. Rueger.t President
of the Board.

Trustees Present: Binder, Davis, Smiley and Rueger.
Trustees Absent: Bryson.

The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 19th day of
1920, were read. Do errors or omissions appearing, it wa:; moved
by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Davis, that the minutes be
approved as read. Carried.

A i:r. O'Brien addressed the Board with reference to operating
a moving picture theatre in a tent for a period of about three months,
with the idea of then erecting a brick theatre building. It was moved
by Trustee.Smiley, seconded by 'Trustee Davis, that the matter be
referred to the Public Service Committee for consideration and report.
Carried.

Trustee Binder of the Public Service Committee reported that
the material for constructing a band stand had been ordered and that
work will be started immediately upon its arrival.
Trustee Binder reported that Trustee Bryson is preparing a
plan and specifications for cesspools and septic tanks, but that the
same are not ready for this meeting. By general consent it was
understood that the matter would lay in abeyance for several weeks.

City Attorney, Clyde 17oodworth, reported that he had sometime
ago prepared a deed for certain property in the :Sastern end of the
city, which is to be acquired by the city for street purposes and
that he had forwarded the deed to .Ir. J. B. Haight, Administrator of
the _.:.ark Estate, who in turn was to forward it to the heirs in the
�.ast for siv nature. Lrs. haight had reported to him that the deed
had been forwarded and is now in the East in the hands of someone of
the heirs of said Estate and that as soon as ::Ir. Haight returns from a
Springs where he is recuperatin., from a recent illness, he will endeavor
to yorocure the document, returning the same to the Attorney, so that
the .latter may be closed.

Trustee Rueter stated that several of the lodges using the
Auditoriur, had complained to him that the piano was out of tune.
After short discussion the matter was referred to Trustee Davis for
attention.
Trustee Bryson appeared at the :aeeting during the above discussion
and took his seat, the hour being 7:45 o'clock P. Li.
The City Clerk asked tf the 3oard intend installing electroliers
on the ',7estern end of Grand Avenue at the entrance to the City from
the Coast 3oulevard. It was moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by
Trustee Bryson that two electroliers be installed at the Western
terminus of `.rand Avenue and that the matter be referred to the
Public 'Jorks Co._;mittee with power to act. Carried by the following i

tnat the janitor has been charging lodges for removing; the canvas
from the floor of the auditorium on occasions when dances are held
in the building, stating that he believed the janitor w�is entitled
to additional compensation when it is necessary to wash dishes
following a banquet or to re..:ove decorations erected on special
occasions, but that for regular cleaning or sweeping of'the hall,
or re roving the canvas for da.�ce, no extra charge should be made.
The 3oard concurred in tlis opinion and suggested that for proper
,aidance in future and to avoid confusion, a set of rules overning
-he use of the auditorium should be established.
