A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of El Segundo
was called to order at 7 :30 o'clo:k 2. L. on the above date, in the Council
Chamber of the City Hall, by Jilliam C. Bryson, President of the Board.
ROLL CALL.
Trustees Present: Kessels. Smiley, Vandervort and Bryson.
Trustees Absent: Ward.

The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 10th day of March,
1920, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by
Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Vandervort, that the same be approved
as read. Carried.

The following communications were read and disposed of as
indicated:
A letter from iwirs. T. s. fuck requesting the assistance of the
Board in having the nam. of E1 Segundo Avenue changed to E1 Primiero
Avenue was read and ordered filed.
GRAL C OIw�ITJ11I CAT IONS .
Mr. 0. E. Palmer verbally addressed the Board with reference to
rendering assistance to the baseball team by way of having the grand stand
at the baseball park enlarged and having shower baths installed for the
use of the players. The matter was referred to the Public Yorks
Committee to report to the Board at the next meeting.
Mr. W. F. Walker requesting the Board's assistance in obtaining
street lights at Virginia Street and 4alnut Avenue, and Virginia and
Collingwood Streets; also urging that the Board require the Southern
California Gas Company to lay its mains in Virginia Street North from
Palm Avenue before the street is improved. The.City Clerk was instructed
to communicate with the Southern California Edison Company and the
Southern California Gas Company to the end desired.
ORTS OF STAiIDING COL II' TEES.
Trustee Vandervort of the Public Jorks Committee reported that
grading of the bank at the North corner of Ll Segundo Avenue and Lomita
Street was under way.
Trustee Vandervort reported for the Public Worke Committee that
furniture had been procured for the club rooms of the Fire Department and
had been delivered.
REPORTS OF SPECIAL =1 dI`T'!2EES.
The City Clerk reported that the tenant occupying the office
building adjacent to the City Hall had paid rent for the months of March
and April.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
Moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Vandervort, that

Moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded. by Trustee Vandervort, that
Ordinance No. 63, entitled: "AN ORDIIIZCE Or THE CITY OF M SEGULDO,
CALIFORNIA, FI .ZING THE SALARIES OF THE CLERK, TREASURER, MARSHAL, AND
RECORDER OF SAID CITY, AND REPEALING ALL ORDII1ANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINAIICES
IN COEFLICT 1'HEP, 1dITE ", which was introduced and read at a regular meeting
of the Board of Trustees held on the 10th day of March, 1920, be adopted.
Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Kessels, Smiley, Vandervort and Bryson.
Noes: None.
Absent: Ward.
In as much as the City Engineer was not present at the meeting, and
had filed no report as to the number of yards of earth to be moved in
repairing Dlariposa Avenue, west from Hillcrest Avenue, the City Clerk was
instructed to ascertain from the City Engineer the number of yards he
estimated it would be necessary to move.
The Board discussed the suggested changes to the City Hall heating
system, and it was decided that in as much as summer is approaching when
very little heat will be required, that the order for the Powers
Thermostatic Safety Gas Regulator be cancelled, and the City Clerk
instructed to notify the supplier.

used as a fire alarm signal.

referred to the Public Safety Committee to report to the Board in one
week. -

seconded by Trustee Kessels, that the meeting adjourn. Carried.
