Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of El Segundo was
called to order at 7:30 o'clock P. M. on the above date, in the Council Cham-
ber of the City Hall, by Sydney R. Martin, President of the Board.
ROLL CALL.
Trustees present: Bryson, Smiley, and Martin.
Trustees absent: Ward, and Work.
READING MINUTES PFEVIOUS MEETING.

The minutes of the /meeting held on the 3d day of September, 1919, were
read without error or omission being noted, and it was moved by Trustee
Work, seconded by Trustee Bryson, that the same be approved as read. Carried.
Trustee work appeared immediately after the Clerk commenced the reading
of the minutes, and took his seat, the hour being 7:35 o'clock P. M.
WRITTEN C010MUNICATIONS.
The following communications were read:
From the Railroad Commission of the State of California, notice of a
hearing in the Matter of Practice of Electric Utilities as to Extensions
for Service, on the CommBsions Own Motion, to be held in the Flood Bldg.,
San Franciecd, Cal., Sept. 25th, 1919.
From Arthur M. Loomis, C.P.A., with his report on audit attached.
Moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Work, that the communicat-
ions be filed. Carried.

Trustee Work reported that he had looked up prices on a glass top for
the Council table, and found that a top in two sections could be purchased
for $41.50 delivered in E1 Segundo. He was instructed to ascertain what it
would cost to have the table enlarged to accommodate the map of the city,
with moulding on edges to hold the glass.
The City Clerk reported that the City Engineer a stimated that it would
cost about $140.00 to -perform the work necessary to establish the grade on
Main St.
Bids for painting the exteriors of the windows in the City Hall were
presented by C. E. Mahoney and C. M. hassenstab. Oaring to the absence of
details, it was suggested that the City Clerk draw up specifications for
the work, and that the gentlemen be requested to bid on the -specifications..

be allowed, and warrants for same drawn on the General Fund. Carried by
the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Bryson, Smiley, Work, and Martin.

Moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Mork, that the City
Clerk be instructed to purchase two fire extinguishers for use of the
Street Department, at a cost not to exceed $20.00. Carried by the foll-
owing vote: Ayes: Trustees Bryson, Smiley, Work, and Martin.
Noes: Trustees None.
Absent: Trustee Ward.
Moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Bryson, that the City
Clerk be authorized to purchase necessary office supplies at a cost not
to exceed $25.00. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Bryson, Smiley, Work and Martin.
Noes: Trustees None.
Absent: Trustees Ward.
No further business appearing, it was moved by Trustee Bryson,
seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the meeting adjourn. Carried.
