E1 Segando, Cal., Oct. 31st, 1919.
A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of El Segando
was called to order at 12 :00 o'clock noon on the above date, in the
Council Chamber of the City Hall, pursuant to call of the President, and
notice duly given each Trustee as provided by law. President Martin
presiding.
Roll Call.
Trustees present:
Ward, Mork, and Martin.
Trustees absent:
Bryson, and Smiley.
Moved by Trustee Work, seconded by Trustee Ward, that the regular
order of business be dispensed with. Carried.
It appearing that in view of the Building Inspector's not having
had time to notify Mr. MoMurry that he would be unable to operate his
theatre this date would work a severe financial hardship upon Mr. Mo-
Murry inasmuch as he had previously engaged films for this particular
night, it was moved by Trustee Work, seconded by Trustee Ward, that the
following resol #tion be adopted:
RESOLVED that the Building Inspector be and he is hereby permitted
and authorized to allow E. L. MoMurry to use the E1 Segundo Theatre
building and give a performance on the night of October 31st, 1919,
but not thereafter until the same shall have been remodeled as per instruct-
ions of said City Inspector. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Waxd, Work, and Martin.
Noes: None.
Absent: Trustees Bryson, and Smiley.
Mr. J. Sanko having made written application for permission to con-
struct a cement driveway into his premises at 528 Whiting St., E1 Segundo,
it was moved by.Trustee Work, seconded by Trustee Ward, that permission
be granted, with the provision that the same be done in a neat and work-
manlike manner, and to the satisfaction of the Street Superintendent.
Carried.
. No further business appearing, it was moved by Trustee Work, seconded
by Trustee Ward, that the meeting adjourn. Carried.
