An adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Trusteed of the City of E1 Segundo was called to order at 12:00 o'clock noon, in the Coun- cil Chamber of the City hall, by Sydney R. Martin, President of the Board. ROLL CALL. Trustees present: Smiley, Work, and Martin. Trustees absent: Bryson and :lard. Moved by Trustee Work, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the reg- ular order of business be dispensed with. Carried. Loved by Trustee Work, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the fallowing resolution be adopted: WHEREAS, it appears that certain zxmqm residents and property owners of the City of E1 Segundo are willing to pay certain moneys in the sum of $150.15 into the Treasurery of the City of E1 Segundo, California, and into the General Fund thereof, for the purpose of causing certain street improvements within said city to be made, and, WHEREAS, said sum has been deposited with the City Clerk of said City with instructions to pay the same into said General Fund upon the a adoption of the following: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Street Superintendent be and he is hereby instructed to cause the portion of that certain public street within the City of E1 Segundo, California, known as Holly Avenue, lying and being between Whiting and Concord Streets to be improved by the construction therein of the following improvement, to -wit: Grading and spreading rock and oil same as on Palm Avenue. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Smiley, Work, and Martin. Noes: None. Absent: Bryson, and Ward. Moved by Trustee Fork, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the following resolution be adopted: WHEREAS, it appears that certain residents and property owners of the City of E1 Segundo, California, are willing to pay certain moneys in the sum of $82.20 into the Treasurery of the City of E1 Segundo, California, and into the General Fund thereof, for the purpose of causing certain street improvements within said city to be made, and, WHBQBLS, said sum has been deposited with the City Clerk of said City with instructions to pay the same into said General Fund upon the adoption of the following: NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; That the Street Superintendent be and he is hereby instructed to cause the portion of that certain pub- lic street within the City of E1 Segundo, California, known as Holly Avenue, lying and being between Lome. Vista and Whiting Streets, to be improved by the construction therein of the following improvement, to- wit: An improvement similar in character to that used in the improve- ment of palm Avenue in said city. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Smiley, Work, and Martin. Noes: None. Absent: Bryson, and Ward. Messers Tracy and Belcher, owners of property on Main Street near Collingwood St., who had requested the Board to do certain grad- ing, communicated orally with the Board, stating their willingness to do the grading at their own expense and to the satisfaction of the Street Superintendent, if they would be permitted to use the earth on their own premises. This appearing to be a fair offer, the Board agreed to look over the ground on the afternoon of this date. No further business appearing, it was moved by Trustee Work, sec- onded by Trustee Smiley, that the meeting adjourn. Carried.
