"r. ;ueger advised the 3oard that at a meeting of the Anti- annex- atio. -_ 1ea e held at Venice on June 24th, 19199 it was decided to employ actor_ e-- to represent the orgu nizati on, and that it would be necessary for the..: to raise about V2500. In this connection, the amount asked for E1 Seg n.7 d-- is about 9;47.00, which was based on a population of 600, and which amount ne agreed to raise and double if necessary, which amount he asked the Board to provide, if able. He stater further that a monthly assessment of about '3.00 i_i -ht be made for the purposes of defraying current expenses. Trustee Work drew attention to the fact that a number of motor ve- hicle accidents recently at the corner of r:Fain Street and E1 Segundo :..Jade advisable the widening of Lain St. at that point, to the full width of the street. The matter was discussed, and at the suggestion of the president of the Board, action thereon deferred one week to enable the entire Board to survey the situation. The Chair suggested the employment of watchmen July 4th, for the purpose of guarding against fires. Action postponed one week. 3ro:en glass in the sash door to gents toilet was drawn to the Board'8 attention, and the matter referred to the public lorks Committee. The City Clerk advised that the City was sup posed to have about 147 emp t;,° ce-ent sac IM on hand and asked permission to dispose of sa:r.e by sale. By general consent he was authorized to dispose of same. i.o further business appearing, it was moved by Trustee Work, seconded by Trustee S:;.iley, that the meeting adjourn. Carried.
