Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of it Segundo
was called to order at 7 :30 o'clock P. L:. on the above date in the Coun-
cil-Chamber of the City Hall, by Sydney R. Liartin, President of the Board.
ROLL CALL.
Trustees present: Bryson, Smiley, Work, and Martin.
Trustees absent: ;7ard.

The minutes of the meeting held on the 4th day of June, 1919, were
read without error or omission being noted, and it was moved by Trustee
Bryson, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the same be approved as read.
Carried.
VIRITTEN COI.: ZIUCSTIONS.
The following co=nications were read:
From Lary Halley, than]:,-ing the Board of Tra stees for use of the City
Hall on June 3rd, 1919.
From Lrs. Margaret Henderson applying for permission to rent the
kuditoriu: for James Stuart and Kenneth Stevenson on June 21st, 19199 for
the purpose of giving a dance.
From the Fidelity -and Deposit Co. of Maryland referring to official
bond of the City Treasurer, and enclosing a petition which was served upon
the City Treasurer as provided by law.

nznications be filed. Carried.
REPORTS OF STANDING COIu LITTEES.
Trustee Bryson reported that he and Trustee Work had looked over the
locations at which the Southern California Edison Co. proposed setting
street lighting poles through sidewalks, and no other plan appearing feas-
ible, they had - approved the same.
Reports Of Special Committees.
Trustee Bryson reported that the sidewalk in front of the City Hall
had been installed and is now complete.
The City Clerk reported that the platform in the Auditorium had been
repaired.
UTIFINISHSD BUSINESS.

Trustee Smiley moved the adoption of the following resolution:
RESOLiiED that from and after the 1st day of June, 1919, the salary of
Lewis as garbage collector, be and the same is hereby increased to
the sum of 430.00 per month. The motion was seconded by Trustee Work, and
carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Bryson, Smiley, fork, and Martin.

Moved by Trustee Smiler, seconded by Trustee Work, that the application
of James Sturat and Kenneth Stevenson through Mrs. Margaret Henderson, for
permission to use the Auditorium on the evening of June 21st, 1919, be grant-
ed, and the cus toL:ary rental of $7.50 collected. Carried by the following
vote: Ayes: Trustees Bryson, Smiley, Work, and Martin.

The Fire Department requested permission to purchase a glass funnel
and rack for sulphuric acid container to simplify the recharging of
chemical tanks on the fire engine. The matter was referred to the Public
Safety Committee upon motion of Trustee Smile;T, seconded by Trustee Work,
which carried.
It appearing that a greater quantity of Fire Hose than was ordered
at the last meeting, is needed, it was moved by Trustee Bryson, seconded
by Trustee Smiley, that the City Clerk be authorized to order 350 feet of
2" inch S. J. L;ierican Fire Hose, froir. the American Rubber Ilfg. Co., at a
cost not to exceed $275.00. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Brty son, Smiley, Mork, and T;iartin.
Noes: None.
