Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of El Segundo was called to order at 7 :30 o'clock P. �-. on the above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, by Carl Ernest Rueger, President of the Board. ROLL CALL. Trustees present: Bryson, Radney, and Rueger. Tzustees absent: Martin, and Surd. Trustee Radney reported that Mr. Houston of the Southern California Edison Company had advised that the light for the street indicator at 1 ain St. and Grand Avenue cannot be taken from the street lighting air - cult, and tha t a meter with a switch would have to be installed Which will have to be turned on and off by some person, nights and mornings. The Chair drew the attention of the Board to the construction of a frame garage in the rear of the E1 Segundo Hotel Bldg., which is within the limits of Fire District Ito. 1, in which district no frame buildings may be constructed. The Building Inspector was instructed to inform the owner that the operations oust cease. Moved by Trustee Ward, seconded by Trustee Radney, that the follow- ing resolution be adopted: "RESOLVED that sealed bids of proposals be received up to the hour of eight o'clock P. K. on Wednesday, the 30th day of October, 1918, for the furnishing of all labor and materials necessary for completing the Stear, Heating System in the -City Hall -of the City of E1 Segundo, Califor- nia, according to specifications prepared for the same by Homer W. Glidden, Architect, and in conformity with the following notice which the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish for at least two weeks before said date of receiving bids, in the El Segundo Herald, to -wit: "EL SEGUNDO CITY HALL NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS. Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo, California, vrill receive bids for the furnishing of all labor and materials for completing the Steam Heating System in the City Hall of the City of E1 Segundo, California, according to spe cis ications prepared for the same by Homer W. Glidden, Architect, copies of said specifications may be obtained on application to the Clerk of the City of El Segundo or the Architect. All bids rust be subr -itted on blank forks prepared by the Architect and =ast be sealed. Each bid must be actor panied by a certified or cashier's check or a bidder's bond in an amount of not less than five per cent. (51.0 of the amount of the bid, which check or bond shall be given as evidence that the bidder will enter into contract if awarded the work and which will be declared forfeited if said bidder refuses to enter into such contract - upon being formally requested to do so. All bids shall be marked "Bids for Steam Fitting, City Hall" and shall,` j be filed with the City Clerk of the City of E1 Segundo on or before the hour of 8:00 o'clock P. Y. on Wednesday, the 30th day of October, 1918, at whkich said time, and in the City Hall of said City, said bids-will be open- ed and publicly declared.
