1918 MAY 14 CC MIN-El Segundo, Cal., May 14th, 1918.
A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of El Segundo
was held in the City Hall of said City on the above date, pursuant to call
of the President of the Board, and notices duly given to each Trustee of
said-City of the holding of said meeting, in the manner provided by law.
Said meeting was called to order at 4 :30 o'clock P. M. by Carl Ernest
Rueger, President of the Board.
ROLL CALL.
Trustees present: Bryson, Coward, and Rueger.
Trustees absent: Martin and Ward.
Moved by Trustee Coward, seconded by Trustee Bryson, that the regular
order of business be dispensed with. Carried.
It was then moved by Trustee Coward, seconded by Trustee Bryson, that
the following resolution be adopted:
WHEREAS information has come to this Board of Trustees that there are
certain obstructions, to -wit: Certain fence poste and certain fence wires
upon that certain portion of Ballona-Avenue in the City of El Segundo, des-
cribed as follows, to tit: The Northerly twelve feet of the Easterly Six
Hundred Twenty Eight and Three- tenths feet of the said Ballona Avenue
within the corporate limits of the said City of El Segundo, and
WHEREAS said Ballona Avenue is now under process of improvement, and
WHEREAS said obstructions are a serious menace and impediment to the
proper and prompt prosecution or completion of said work, and
WHEREAS it appears to this Board that the owner of the property
immediately adjoining the portion of said Ballona Avenue upon which said
obstructions exist have received due and adequate notice to remove the
same, and for the period of two days has failed to remove the same, and -
WHEREAS it-is urgently necessary that the same be immediately removed
in the opinion of this Board of Trustees, and
Whereas the public interest and necessity demands the action herein
take n,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Street Superintendent of the
City of El Segundo, be, and he is hereby authorized and instructed to
immediately remove said fence posts and fence wires and all other obstruct-
ions or other impediments to the prompt and proper prosecution and com-
pletion of said work of improvement by said City of El Segundo.
The resolution was adopted by-the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Bryson, Coward,and Rueger.
Noes; Trustees None.
Absent: Trustees Martin and Ward.
No other business appeared and it was moved by Trustee Bryson, seconded
by trustee Coward, that the meeting adjourn. Carried.
