1918 MAY 08 CC MINITHEB E1 Sogando, Cal., May 8th, 1918. Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of El Segundo was called to order at 7:30 o'clock P. E. on the above date, in the City Hall, by Carl Ernest Rueger, President of the Board. ROLL CALL. Trustees present: Bryson, Ward, and Rueger. Trustees absent; Coward, and Martin. READING I,IINUTES PREVIOUS MEETING. The minutes of the meeting ,held on the 1st day of Inlay, 1918, were read without error or omission being noted. It was moved by Trustee Ward, seconded by Trustee Bryson, that the same be approved, and the motion carried. Trustee Martin appeared during the reading of the minutes, at 7:40 P. id., and took his seat. 77RITTEN COM-TINLICATIONS. Communications were received from the United Casting Co., quoting prices on street buttons, and from Neal Abshier, applying for permission to discharge firearms within the Cit7 Limits. Moved by Trustee Martin seconded by Trustee Ward, that the communications be filed. Carried. ORAL C OLIL ITICATI ONS . Mr. Friele, a manufacturer of street buttons addressed the Board relative to his product, quoting a price of $30.00 per button, ready to install. Matter referred to the Public Safety Committee. Health Officer Davis information as to the procedure to be followed to abate nuisances and was instructed by the City Attorney. None . REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES. REPORTS OF SPECIAL C01011. TTEES. The City Engineer reported that he had submitted a proposition to the Pacific Electric Ry. Co. for the_ installation of a Spur track in Arizona Drive for the unloading of rock to be used in the improvement of Ballona Avenue and Main St., whereby the Pacific Electric Ry. Co. would install a frog and trolley and lay 125 feet of track to clearance, balance of spur track work, grading, and materials to be furnished by the City, but that the Railroad had not submitted a price for their part of this work. He stated also that the wig -wag signal had not been removed, but that the railroad had promised to remove the same. At 8:00 o'clock P. I.l., the chair declared a recess of five minutes, and business was resumed at 8:05 P . I,�. UNFINISHED BUSINESS. The City Clerk asked for a ruling concerning the refund on a.license where a licensee discontinued business prior to the expiration of the license issued. City* Attorney ruled that inasmuch as the Ordinance did not provide for a refund under these circumstances, none could be made. City Clerk requested a ruling concerning.the collection of a license from a person or persons owning a small number of cows, selling milk.
