- .. of •1 s. ��. �� � _ Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of-El Segundo was held in the City Hall on the above date, being called to order at 7:30 o'clock p. m.,-by Carl Ernest Rueger, President of the Board. BOIL CALL. Trustees present: Martin, Radney, Ward, and Saeger. Trustees absent: Bryson. REARING MINUTES PREVIOUS MEETING. The minutes of the meeting held on the Slat day of July, 1918, were read without error or omission being noted, and it was moved by Trustee Ward; sec- onded by Trustee Martin, that the same be approved as read. Voted by Trustee Martin, seconded by Trustee Radney, that the demand be allowed and a warrant for same drawn on the ]Fity Hall Bond Interest and Re- demption Fend, 1918. Carried by the following vets: Ayes: Trustees Martin, Radney, Ward, and Raeger. Noes: None. Absent: Trustee Bryson. UW BUSINESS. The City Attorney reported that he had received notice from the Railroad Commission that the Southern California Edison Co. had made applioatioz for an Increase in rates, and that the hearing would be bad on August 19th, 1918, and requested instructions from the Board as to what action they desired to take. By general consent, the Board decided to take no action, and the Attorney was so instructed. The Chair drew attention to the necessity of changing street signs after August 9th, on account of a change in street names, and requested the Pablic Works Committee to look after the matter. ! A request for a street light at*-Ahe corner of Soma Vista St• and Pine Ave. having been made verb &3Y to_ a of the Board members, the Board, by r general consent, - instracted't©�rise the Southern California Edi.saa Co. to add this light to their contract. In order to determine the grads of oil needed, the quantity and expense of- applying same, it was decided to do one day's work oiling Ballona AT& Sanks, and the shoulders of the reed. With regard to Revenue Tax on the Firemen's Pool Tables, the City Attorney reported that the Revenue Tax Collector bad advised him that inasmuoh as th* . tables are not in use, no report is necessary, but when the tables are agWin pat to use, a report should be made immediately. The Marshal reported the appointment of W. D. Donaldson, as a deputy, and V was moved by Trustee Martin, seconded by Trustee 'Ward, that the appointment be approved. Carried.
