Hall, by Trustee Sydney ?. 1..artin, owing to the absence of the president.
Loved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Coward, that Trustee
_artin serve as President Pro Tern. Carried.
The City Clerk being absent, the president pro tem appointed Trustee
Coward clerk pro tem and he immediately took up the duties of Clerk.

REPORTS STA DING CO=TTEES .
Trustee Smiley of the Public :forks Committee reported that Arizona
and Crand :venues were in poor condition and badly in need or repairs,
and having their improvement in view, he and Trustee Coward made a trip
to the City of Inglewood to see about renting that City's road machinery,
and ascertained that throe same could be rented for $20.00 per day.
He stated also that he had been able to procure from the Pacific
Rock and Gravel Company, a car load of crushed rock at the price of $1.10
per yard and added that the Standard Oil Company would oil the same for
the city free of charge, when spread upon the streets.
1doved by Trustee Coward, seconded by Trustee Ward, that the action
of the Public Works Committee, as set forth in their report be, and the
same is hereby ratified and approved by this Board and said Committee is
hereby authorised to proceed with the improvement of Arizona Avenue and
Grand Avenue, as outlined in their report, at a cost not to exceed x;300.00.
The motion carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Coward, Smiley, Ward and Lartin.
Noes: None.
Absent: Trustee Rueger.
