M. on the above date, in the City Hall, by President Rueger. ROLL CALL. Trustees present: Coward, Smiley--and Rueger. Trustees absent: Martin and Ward. READING MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING, Minutes of the regular meeting held on the 18th, day of June, 1917, were read without error or omission being noted and it was moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Coward, that the same be approved. Carried. Trustee Martin appeared at 7 :45 o'clock P.M. Moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Martin, that the reading of the minutes of the adjourned meeting held on the 19th day of June, 1917, be dispensed with until the neat meeting of the Board. Carried. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS. From the geese -Engineering Co., referring to the purchase of Fire Apparatus by the City. From the Registrar of Voters, requesting that a certain map which he furnished, have the street numbers inserted thereon. From the E1 Segundo Land & Improvement Co., enclosing Bond. Moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Martin, that the communications be filed. Carried. ORAL COM1%u'UNI CATIONS. Representative of the Seagrave Eire Engine Co., addressed the Board relative the equipment of his company and requested an opportunity to demonstrate same. Moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Martin, that the matter be referred to the Committee of Public Safety for consideration, Carried. REPORTS OF STANDING COMMI TTEES. None. REPORTS OF SPECIAL COMMITTEES. The Attorney reported that he had called upon the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors and learned that the matter of street work would be heard the following Monday. He urged all Trustees able, to attend the meeting. The City Attorney also advised, that the balance of the money due this City out of-the County Road Fund might be paid within another week UNFINISHED BUSINESS. Moved by Trustee Smiley, seconded by Trustee Martin, that the City Clerk number the blocks as requested in the letter of the County Registrar, commencing at Ballona Avenue and numbering North; and at Loma Vista Street numbering East. Carried. Trustee Smiley introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLVED that the Bond of the E1 Segundo Land and Improvement Co., submitted in the sum of One Thousand Dollars, with the Hartford Accident and Indemnity Company, Har *ford, Connecticut, as surety, dated June 21st, 1917, be and the same is hereby approved. Trustee Martin seconded the motion, and the resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Coward, Martin Smiley 8: Rueger. TMoes: None. Absent: Trustee Ward. NEW BUSINESS. Moved by Trustee Martin, seconded by Trustee Smiley, that the City Attorney be instructed to take up with the Pacific Tel. & Tel. Co., the matter of a Pay Station for E1 Segundo. Carried. Loved by Trustee Martin, seconded by Trustee Coward, that the XXXXXXX Superintendent of Streets employ a man to trim shade trees where necessary on the City's streets. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Coward, Martin, Smiley and Rueger. Noes: None. Absent: Trustee Ward. ADJOURNMENT.
