Trustee Martin introduced Ordinance No. 9, entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO ESTABLISHING A BOARD OF HEALTH THEREIN, DESIGNATING A CHAIRMAN OF SAID BOARD AS THE HEALTH OFF- ICER OF SAID CITY AND PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN SANITARY AND HEALTH REGULAT- IONS IN SAID MffNICIPALITY, and the same had its first reading. Trustee Ward introduced Ordinance No. 10, entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO REGULATING THE USE OF THE PUBLIC STREETS AND PLACES WITHIN SAID CITY AND PROHIBITING INJURY THERETO OR OBSTRUCTION THEREOF, and the same was read for the first time. Trustee Smiley moved the adoption of Ordinance No. 6, entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO.PROVIDING FOR THE CON - FIN=T OF PERSONS ARRESTED THEREIN, which was introduced and read at the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees held on the 14th day of February, 1917. TOTAL NEW BUSINESS. � The Street Superintendent through the Clerk, infarmed the Board of the dangerous condition of the sidewalk on Standard Street, result- ing from lowering of the Street grade. After discussion it was moved by Trustee Smiley seconded by Trustee Martin, that the Street Supt. be authorized to close the sidewalk on Standard Street until the dangerous condition is remedied. The motion carried. Moved by Trustee Ward seconded by Trustee Smiley that a Petty Cash fund of $10.00 be granted the City Clerk and that warrant be drawn for the amount. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Coward, Martin,Smiley, Ward and Rueger. Noes: None. Absent: None. Motion by Trustee Smiley seconded by Trustee Ward, that the Street Superintendent be allowed to purchase two red lanterns.
