Dear Mayor Pimentel, Mayor Pro-Tem Baldino, and Councilmembers,
I am writing to you as a member of the ACC. Although I was unable to attend the April meeting, I have
since consulted with John, Joan, Jason, and Em to get up to speed on our current discussions.
While I understand the concerns regarding the fund's future due to declining development forecasts, I
would like to ask why the council is not exploring more proactive solutions to maintain its health.
Specifically:
- Are we collecting data on why developers prefer to build art on -site rather than contributing to the
fund?
- What incentives could encourage developers to contribute?
- How can we improve our messaging to stakeholders?
- Are there alternative avenues available to grow the fund?
It would be reassuring to the committee and our residents to know that the council is seeking creative
solutions rather than simply reducing budgets and the programs our community values.
