Chair Fellhauer called the El Segundo Planning Commission meeting to order at CALL TO ORDER
7:00 p.m. in the El Segundo City Hall's Council Chambers, 350 Main Street, El
Segundo, California.
Chair Fellhauer led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
PRESENT: FELLHAUER, ROTOLO, FUENTES, and BALDINO.
ABSENT: WAGNER
None.
Chair Fellhauer presented the Consent Calendar.
None.

Commissioner Fuentes moved, seconded by Commissioner Baldino, to approve MOTION
the September 25, 2008, Minutes, as amended. Motion carried (4-0).
Planning Manager Christensen provide a UCLA Extension Planning Commission WRITTEN
Training Program flyer. COMMUNICATIONS
Chair Fellhauer presented Agenda Item H-2, Environmental Assessment No. 784 NEW BUSINESS -
Applicant: LA4, LLC Equinix. Property Owner: LA4, LLC Equinix. Address: 445 PUBLIC HEARING EA -
North Douglas Street. 784
Contract Senior Planner Louis Morales presented the staff report (of record.)
Commissioner Rotolo asked staff about whether or not the Edison substation
that's being built to serve the data center provides capacity just for the center or
does it have a larger capacity to accommodate future growth.
Mr. Morales responded that there is a 56 MVA size substation energy
requirement to accommodate the existing size and future growth of the facility.
Scott Hettema, Director of Real Estate for Equinix
Mr. Hettema thanked staff for all their participation on the project and states that
he is available to answer questions.

Planning and Building Safety Director Greg Carpenter introduced himself to the
Commission.
Planning Manager Kimberly Christensen stated that there will be items
scheduled for the next two regularly scheduled Planning Commission meetings
on November 13, 2008 and December 11, 2008, and that there will be a Special
Meeting on December 4, 2008. Ms. Christensen also discussed information
regarding an upcoming Planning Commissioner Training Program through UCLA
Extension and asked Commissioners to contact her if they are interested in
attending.
