2005-11-10 PC MinutesMINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA NOVEMBER 10, 2005 Vice -Chairman Kretzmer called the meeting of the El Segundo Planning CALL TO ORDER Commission to order at 7:05 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the City of El Segundo City Hall, 350 Main Street, El Segundo, California. Vice -Chairman Kretzmer led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag PRESENT: FELLHAUER, *FUNK, KRETZMER, WAGNER (*Funk arrived at 7:12 p.m.) ABSENT: FRICK None. Vice -Chairman Kretzmer presented the Consent Calendar. None. PLEDGE TO FLAG ROLL CALL PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS CONSENT CALENDAR CALL ITEMS FROM CONSENT CALENDAR Commissioner Wagner moved, seconded by Commissioner Fellhauer, MOTION to approve the October 27, 2005, Planning Commission Minutes as presented. Motion passed 3-0 (Chairman Funk had not yet arrived). None. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS Vice -Chairman Kretzmer presented Agenda Item No. H-2, PUBLIC HEARINGS, Environmental Assessment No. 679 and Subdivision No. 05-7 (VTPM NEW BUSINESS, No. 27150). Applicant: Terrence Kwok. Address: 129 West Palm EA NO. 679, Avenue. Property Owner: Hsing-Sheng Wang. SUBD NO 05-7 Planning Technician Schopp presented staff report (of record). A request for a one- year extension of Vice -Chairman Kretzmer opened the public hearing. Vesting Tentative Parcel Map No. 27150 Terrence Kwok, project architect, stated that the owner anticipates for a new three -unit starting construction next March or April and that the construction condominium. 1 El Segundo Planning Commission Minutes, November 10, 2005 Page 1 project should last approximately 8 to 9 months. There being no further input, Vice -Chairman Kretzmer closed the public hearing. Planning Manager Christensen noted for Vice -Chairman Kretzmer that this is the first request for an extension on this project. Commissioner Fellhauer moved, seconded by Chairman Funk, to MOTION approve Environmental Assessment No. 679 and Subdivision No. 05-7, thus adopting Resolution No. 2594. Motion passed 4-0. None. PUBLIC HEARINGS, CONTINUED BUSINESS Director Jurjis noted that the special joint meeting with City Council and REPORT FROM the Planning Commission has been scheduled for November 29, 2005, DIRECTOR 7:00 p.m., City Council Chambers, to address the R-1 Single -Family design standards. He added that the meeting is open to the public and that it will be televised live. Planning Manager Christensen stated that because of the holiday, the second regularly scheduled Planning Commission meeting in November is cancelled and that the next regularly scheduled Planning Commission meeting will take place on December 8tn 1► rem PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS Commissioner Wagner congratulated Chairman Funk on her successful PLANNING campaign and election to the El Segundo School Board. Vice Chair COMMISSIONERS' Kretzmer and Commissioner Fellhauer echoed those congratulations COMMENTS and best wishes. Chairman Funk stated that she is looking forward to her work on the school board and thanked the Commission for their kind sentiments. She added that she will be resigning from the Planning Commission as a result of her election to the school board, noting her pleasure in serving on the Planning Commission. None.
