A. CALL TO ORDER — Chairperson Pickhaver called the meeting to order at 5:35
pm.

C. CONSENT CALENDAR:
1. MOTION by Vice Chairperson Burrell, SECONDED by Member Bart,
approving Regular Committee meeting minutes of July 23, 2024 MOTION
PASSED. 6/0
D. NEW BUSINESS
1. Hilton Garden Inn 1 % Public Art Proposal
Representatives from Hilton Garden Inn presented art options to the committee
to be consistent with requirements of the 1 % art requirement ordinance.
Committee members asked questions related to signage, fencing, and timelines
associated with completing the project.
MOTION by Chairperson Pickhaver, SECONDED by Member Bart, to approve
with revisions. MOTION PASSED 6/0
2. Art Walk Recap
Cultural Arts Coordinator Randy Niessen provided an update and reported on
various feedback heard about the Art Walk.
Committee members asked questions related to logistics of the Art Walk,
associated costs, city involvement. Staff provided additional information.

3. Programming Updates
Cultural Arts Coordinator Randy Niessen updated the committee on the poet
laureate applications, library workshops, festival of holidays, the upcoming
cultural excursion, and the next library exhibition.
Committee members asked for additional information regarding the poet
laureate selection process and city policies.
4. Cultural Development Program Updates
Cultural Arts Coordinator Randy Niessen updated the committee on Mattel's
upcoming project, various budget earmarks
5. Cultural Arts Plan Updates
Cultural Arts Coordinator Randy Niessen updated the committee on Rec.,
Park, and Library's future plans of creating a department -wide Strategic Plan.
Committee members asked about rates and fees for the consultant assisting
with the plan. Staff provided additional information.
6. Public Art Updates
Cultural Arts Coordinator Randy Niessen updated the committee on the public
art map.
Committee members asked about the status of the website. Staff provided
additional information.
7. ACC Meeting Schedule
Chairperson Pickhaver began discussions on the November and December
meeting schedule for the Committee.
The Committee members all discussed their availability during the upcoming
holiday season.
MOTION by Chairperson Pickhaver to cancel the November and December
meetings and hold a special meeting on December 10, SECONDED by
Committee member Bart.
E. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. ACC Vacancy Update

Chairperson Pickhaver update the committee about additional social media posts
he did promoting the vacancy to the public. Cultural Arts Coordinator Randy
Niessen provided additional information on received applicants and encouraged
recommendations.
Committee members asked questions related to the interview and selection
process for CCBs.
2. GUNDO Pride Update
Chairperson Pickhaver update the committee about the GUNDO Pride event
including vendor participation, community participation and attendance.

Office staff regarding ongoing public art.

Chairperson Pickhaver notified the committee of his campaign for City Council.
