RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF EL SEGUNDO
APPROVING THE BLANKET AUTHORITY TO FILE APPLICATIONS FOR GRANT FUNDS
FROM THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY REGIONAL PARK AND OPEN SPACE DISTRICT
FOR MEASURE A FUNDING FOR PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS
WHEREAS, the voters of the County of Los Angeles on November 8, 2016, approved the Safe,
Clean Neighborhood Parks, Open Space Beaches, Rivers Protection, and Water Conservation Measure
(Measure A); and
WHEREAS, Measure A also designated the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space
District (the District) to administer said funds; and
WHEREAS, the District has set forth the necessary policies and procedures governing the
application for grant funds under Measure A; and
WHEREAS, the District's policies and procedures require the governing body of the City of El
Segundo to approve of the filing of an application before submission of said application to the District;
and
WHEREAS, said application contains assurances that City of El Segundo must comply with; and
WHEREAS, City of El Segundo will enter into Agreement(s) with the District to provide funds for
acquisition projects, development projects, and/or programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THATTHE CITY COUNCIL OF EL SEGUNDO HEREBY:
1. Approves the blanket authority to file applications with the Los Angeles County Regional Park and
Open Space District for Measure A Funds for projects or programs; and
2. Certifies that City of El Segundo understands the assurances and will comply with the assurances
in the application form; and
3. Appoints the City Manager or designee, to conduct all negotiations, and to execute and submit
all documents including, but not limited to, applications, agreements, amendments, payment
requests and so forth, which may be necessary for the completion of projects or programs.
