Background
• Recreation, Parks and Library Department hosts annual
Summer Day Camp, Camp Cowabunga
• Camp Cowabunga is a successful "brand" in the community
• Residents frequently inquire about a City hosted after school
program option
• Current local after school programs operated on school sites by
ESUSD and by other local organizations/churches
• Many local cities offer after school programs to generate
revenue while providing a needed service for working families

Program Overview
• Location: Gordon Clubhouse, Tri-Room
• Close access to playgrounds, open green space, sports courts,
fields, a kitchen, and an auditorium
• Pick up students at RSS and Center Street school
• Focus on wellness and recreation, social skill building, and
enrichment
• Creates a consistent, year round out of school service option for
parents
