City Council Members,
Thank you for your dedicated efforts in addressing the multi -housing parking issue. I was encouraged
by the productive discussion and creative solutions explored at the last City Council meeting.
Regrettably, a prior volunteer commitment prevents me from attending tonight's meeting.
My primary concern remains the precedent this new parking plan will establish for larger
developments in El Segundo, even though I know that it is supposed to be intended for the R3 -
smaller multi housing units. The approved PCC site -specific plan raises the risk of future requests for
similar exceptions, potentially leading to a gradual erosion of our parking standards.
I appreciate your consideration of alternative approaches, such as limiting the new rules to smaller
developments (under 5 units), excluding multi -housing residents from street parking permits, or
maintaining existing parking requirements except for studios.
I ask you to carefully weigh the long-term implications of any changes and continue exploring
solutions that safeguard our community's parking needs.
