Comprehensive work performed over the last 3 years. • Contributing factors include: • Truck design/engineering • CA emissions related components • Past city yard staffing shortages resulting in high -cost 3rd party vendors for maintenance • Shop labor rates • Extended Warranty Option k:LSEC;U\DO 1/21/2025 City of El Segundo 1 350 Main St. El Segundo, CA 90245 9 Fiscal Impact • The cost of one ladder truck is $2,312,819.19 • By establishing a purchase order now, the City can secure the current market price and avoid the 1.5% ($29,896) increase that is scheduled for January 30, 2025, and an additional 1.5% increase each quarter thereafter. • If approved, the funds are available in the vehicle replacement fund with no fiscal impact to the General Fund. • Lease/Purchase option available through PNC financial with flexible 51 7, and 10-year terms. (Qualifies for prepayment discount) 1 /21 /2025 City of El Segundo 1 350 Main St. El Segundo, CA 90245 10 ELSEGUNDO Fiscal Impact • Pierce Manufacturing Inc. offers two (2) payment options to the City which include a 100% pre -payment or a full payment at time of delivery option. • Option 1- Prepayment option reduces purchase price to $1,993,049 (tax included) • Option 2- Payment in full at time of delivery = $2,312,819 total (no prepayment discount) • Staff recommends the 100% pre -payment option as it would result in a cost savings of $319,770, resulting in a purchase price of $1,993,049 • Lease/Purchase option available through PNC financial with flexible 5, 7, and 10 year terms.
