Subject: Cutter Park and North Sheldon issues
Council members,
I am reaching out today to advocate for action by the city on the disaster the city has
created with its management of clutter park. If the city continues to allow the park to exist in
its current state there needs to be a way to minimize impact on the residents of north
sheldon. I believe the most impactful response is to stop vehicular travel south from
imperial down into sheldon st. The ability for the hundreds of park users to come into
sheldon creates massive issues for the residents of el Segundo, this is the type of issue we
experience from the Clutter park users:
1. Parks users urinating and defecating in our yards
2. Heavy drug use and empty liquor bottles thrown into the street, fast food trash
everywhere all the time
3. Late night disturbances from loud car stereos and people drinking while parked
4. Residents have been threatened after observing violence between park "Enthusiasts"
5. Theft, motorcycles being stolen, cars being broken into, and people testing car doors
6. Vehicle hooligans running the stop sign constantly and doing donuts late at night
This is not comprehensive but is a good sample of the types of issues we experience as a
side effect of clutter park being allowed to spill into sheldon st. The city's proposals to clean
clutter park more often would only make this issue worse. I encourage the council to think
about running el segundo for residents and to not put the needs of the hooligans from out
of town who love clutter park above our residents.
