A truck drove right into her and knocked her down hard. She was well enough to get up and stand, but her shoulder and arm were hurt. This is just one of the many incidents and close -calls we've had at the intersection of Franklin and Whiting. Because Whiting turns to El Segundo Blvd, many non-resident beach goers take it to get to the Grand beach. When they get to Franklin, cars stop briefly and move forward, not realizing Franklin has no stop. I also see so many parents and kiddos struggling to cross after and before they frequent Candy Cane park. It's scary! By making this intersection into a 4-way stop, drivers would HAVE to stop and slow down before proceeding. This proposal may not prevent all the accidents, but it will definitely help curb them. I ask and plead with you to help make this a safer intersection. If there's a need for a petition or documentation from residents we would gladly provide it, as I am not the only one wanting this stop - change to take place. Thank you for your time, Maya Polimac (proud El Segundo resident & parent of two amazing ESUSD kiddos)
