I am writing to bring your attention to a troubling labor dispute currently unfolding within the aerospace industry, specifically within facilities that are inaccessible to union representatives who advocate for worker justice in the construction industry. Behind secured locked gates, contractors are operating within these aerospace facilities without oversight. This lack of oversight has led to a concerning pattern emerging, particularly regarding the awarding practices with certain contractors. It has come to our attention that there is a significant presence of subcontractors with previous hour and wage violations, and labor violations at various aerospace facilities. These contractors have gained notoriety for their exploitation of workers and failure to adhere to wage standards. This situation poses a serious threat to construction workers within the aerospace industry, particularly those who operate behind locked gates. We are currently conducting public awareness campaigns at three major aerospace facilities, SpaceX, and Northrop Grumman, where these issues are prevalent. We have in the past had similar issues with Boeing Our objective is to shed light on the injustices faced by workers and advocate for fair treatment and labor practices within the construction industry, especially for those working within secured facilities. To help curb the injustices faced by workers, we strongly recommend that any contractor performing construction behind secured facilities be required to adhere to prevailing wage standards. Additionally, there should be a compliance agency tasked with overseeing all workers to ensure they are being paid accurately and fairly. If you would like more information on how we can provide tools and solutions, please reach out to me, and I will be happy to assist. As local leaders, we believe it is crucial to address these injustices and ensure the well-being and fair treatment of all workers within our community. We urge you to consider taking action to address this labor dispute and advocate for transparency and fair labor practices within the aerospace industry. Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to your support and cooperation in addressing this urgent issue.
