SIXTH AMENDMENT TO
AGREEMENT NO.6379 BETWEEN
THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO AND
WILLDAN ENGINEERING
THIS SIXTH AMENDMENT ("Amendment") to Agreement No. 6379 (the "Agreement") is made
and entered into this 19th day of December, 2023, by and between the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a
general law city and municipal corporation existing under the laws of California ("CITY"), and
WILLDAN ENGINEERING, a California corporation ("CONSULTANT"). The parties agree as
follows:
Pursuant to Agreement Section 34, Subsection C of Section 1 (Consideration) is
amended to increase the not to exceed sum for CITY fiscal year 2023-24 by $185,000
for a total sum of $285,000 for such fiscal year.
2. Pursuant to Agreement Section 34, Section 2 (Scope of Services) is amended to
augment the Agreement's scope of service with the additional fire marshal services as
set forth in Attachment 1 to this Amendment.
3. This Amendment may be executed in any number or counterparts, each of which will be
an original, but all of which together constitutes one instrument executed on the same
date.
4. In accordance with Government Code § 16.5, the parties agree that this Amendment will
be considered signed when the signature of a party is delivered by electronic
transmission. Such electronic signature will be treated in all respects as having the same
effect as an original signature.
5. Except as modified by this Amendment, all other terms and conditions of the
Agreement will remain the same.

Dear Chief Espinosa:
Dennis Grubb & Associates, A Willdan Engineering Company is pleased to present this proposal to
the El Segundo Fire Department to provide interim part time Fire Marshal services (20-24 hours per
week) to El Segundo Fire Department.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Works under the direction of the Fire Chief
• Plans, organizes, and directs the daily operation of the Fire Prevention Bureau.
• Coordinates plan reviews for new construction, remodels, alterations and repairs, and when
necessary, confers with architects, engineers, contractors and appropriate City/County staff to
ensure code compliance.
• Attends meetings with the cities, consultants, developers, landowners, and contractors to
represent the City's interests in planning, fire protection and fire prevention issues and
activities.
is Conducts onsite inspections of buildings and fire protection systems as needed.
Works cooperatively with the cities Building Official, Community Development staff, and the
community.
Performs related duties as required and special projects as assigned.
Periodic attendance at Planning Commission and City Council meetings as requested.
We propose to provide these services for a time and material hourly rate of $140.00. Overtime
hourly rate is $180. Mileage reimbursement for the use of personal vehicle will be at the standard
government published rate (currently 65.5 cents per mile) unless a city vehicle is provided.
Reimbursement is only for miles while on duty, in the course of performing the Fire Marshal duties.
Sandie Hastings has been identified to fill the El Segundo Interim Fire Marshal role with myself as
backup. Sandies resume is attached for your review.
