such loss or damage arising from CITY's sole negligence or willful
misconduct. Should CITY be named in any suit, or should any claim
be brought against it by suit or otherwise, whether the same be
groundless or not, arising out of this Agreement, or its performance,
CONSULTANT will defend CITY (at CITY's request and with
counsel satisfactory to CITY) and will indemnify CITY for any
judgment rendered against it or any sums paid out in settlement or

qualify the liabilities and obligations otherwise assumed by CONSULTANT
pursuant to this Agreement, including, without limitation, to the provisions

injury, and property damage for the policy coverage. Liability policies will be
endorsed to name CITY, its officials, and employees as "additional insureds"
under said insurance coverage and to state that such insurance will be deemed

excess thereto. Such endorsement must be reflected on ISO Form No. CG 20 10
11 85 or 88, or equivalent. Such insurance will be on an "occurrence," not a
"claims made," basis and will not be cancelable or subject to reduction except
upon thirty (30) days prior written notice to CITY.
C, Professional liability coverage will be on an "occurrence basis" if such coverage
is available, or on a "claims made" basis if not available. When coverage is
provided on a "claims made basis," CONSULTANT will continue to renew the
insurance for a period of three (3) years after this Agreement expires or is
terminated. Such insurance will have the same coverage and limits as the policy

CONSULTANT for all claims made by CITY arising out of any errors or
omissions of CONSULTANT, or its officers, employees or agents during the time
this Agreement was in effect.

other evidence of insurance or copies of policies as may be reasonably required
by CITY from time to time. Insurance must be placed with insurers with a current

F, Should CONSULTANT, for any reason, fail to obtain and maintain the insurance
required by this Agreement, CITY may obtain such coverage at

due to CONSULTANT under this Agreement or terminate pursuant to Section 15.
24, USE OF SUBCONTRACTORS. CONSULTANT must obtain CITY's prior written
approval to use any consultants while performing any portion of this Agreement. Such approval
must approve of the proposed consultant and the terms of compensation.
25. INCIDENTAL TASKS. CONSULTANT will meet with CITY monthly to provide the
status on the project, which will include a schedule update and a short narrative description of
progress during the past month for each major task, a description of the work remaining and a

A. Public Art In El Segundo
The City of El Segundo has a growing collection of public art installations throughout its 5.5 square
miles of coastal community. These public art installations range from newly constructed
corporate sculptures to large -format murals that have lined Main Street buildings for decades.
With the creation of Percent For The Arts in 2019, El Segundo successfully established a long term
funding source for new public art projects. As a result, the program has pushed the boundaries of
large-scale, conceptually driven public art for the City of El Segundo.
Recent examples include:
-'Cocoon & Wing' by Nicole Landau for L'Oreal (2022)
- `Dimensional Recipe' by Anne-laure Lamaitre (FatCap) for Mac Partners
- `The Fox' by Bunnie Reiss (Curated by El Segundo Art Walk - 2021)
- ` Moving Forward' by Andrew Hem (Curated by El Segundo Art Walk - 2022)

Agreement No. 6714
B. An Awareness Problem
The El Segundo residents are generally unaware of the recent efforts made by the El Segundo
Cultural Development Fund. In a 2023 ACC meeting, the president of the Arts & Culture
Committee stated,
"Residents don't know about the new public art installations nor do they
know where to find them or even how to experience them. We don't have a
usable platform for Public Art, "
Currently, the City of El Segundo has an online Art Map hosted on the Library's website. This Art
Map was last updated in 2019 and does not include any of the works listed above. In general, new
public art is nut being listed by the City of El Segundo nor being discovered by El Segundo
residents,

A. Vision
The vision for the BSegundo Art Map is to build on the El Segundo Cultural Development's
commitment. "To provide residential and business community members with public spaces,
structures, and experiences that enhance the character of the City through the inclusion of art. "
B. Project Overview
The El Segundo Art Walk, in collaboration with Snap Inc., will announce an ambitious new
interactive initiative named El Segundo Art Map. In August 2023, the program will bring
together local artists and technologists to highlight the current public art in El Segundo.
The El Segundo Art Map will have both new augmented reality (AR) installations in addition to
augmenting current public art pieces located in El Segundo. The virtual public art and murals will
be experienced through the Snapchat app.
The Arts and Culture Committee will be asked to help identify the public art that qualifies to be
listed on the El Segundo Art Map. Pictures, descriptions and information about the public art
map will be listed for viewers to discover.
This initiative will pair major and emerging artists with members of Snap's Lens Creator
community and bring their shared visions to life throughout Los Angeles, including:
- City Hall Plaza AR Installation
-'The Fox' Mural at Sweet Spot Media
- `Moving Forward' Mural at Labib Funk & Associates.
Agreement No. 6714
C. Project Goals
1. To bring El Segundo's public art in one discoverable place
2. To increase public awareness and foster interaction of the current public art pieces
3. To promote and enhance the general welfare by allowing community members to
experience and interact with public artworks in an environment that is open to all
4. To create additional public access to the arts through technology
5. To help grow the creative economy and also drive tourism and revenue to local businesses
6. To improve the character and physical environments of El Segundo
7. To create opportunities for artists and art organizations in the community
