FIRST AMENDMENT TO
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES SUBSCRIPTION AGREEMENT
BETWEEN
THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO AND
DENNIS GRUBB AND ASSOCIATES, LLC
This First Amendment is entered into this 22nd day of June 2022, by and between the CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, a municipal corporation and general law city ("CITY") and DENNIS GRUBB
AND ASSOCIATES, LLC, a California limited liability company ("CONSULTANT").
1. The City desires to amend the Agreement by updating the CONSULTANT's scope of
work, in accordance with the work listed in the attached Exhibit "A", to include
inspection services.
2. Except as modified by this Amendment, all other terms and conditions of the
Agreement remain the same.

Subject: Fire Plan Check Proposal
Dear Fire Marshal Pesqueira
As requested, Dennis Grubb & Associates, LLC (DGA) is pleased to submit this
addendum proposal to provide limited professional Fire Inspection Services to El
Segundo Fire Department.
Scope of Work
• DGA will provide one (1) fire inspector to work in the City of El Segundo one (1) day
a week for approximately 3 months. Time extension may occur with both DGA and
El Segundo Fire approval.
• The day of the week shall be either Monday or Friday. Once the day is selected it
will be permanent unless a minimum of two week prior notification is made to DGA.
• The Fire Inspector will complete new construction inspections at the direction of the
El Segundo Fire Marshal or their designee.
• All inspections will be scheduled by El Segundo Fire Department.
• The fire inspector will complete all required city documentation as directed by El
Segundo Fire Marshal or their designee.
• DGA fire inspector will provide their own safety equipment (shoes, hard hat, safety
vest).
• El Segundo Fire Department will provide a vehicle for sole purpose of fire
inspections.
• El Segundo Fire Department will provide DGA's inspector any uniform deemed
appropriate for inspections.
• El Segundo Fire Department shall provide city business cards for the inspector that
will be used solely for inspection purposes within the City of El Segundo.
• All inspections after hours, weekends, or holidays will be subject to the DGA
inspector's consent.
• After hours is anytime other than 7am to 5pm

Fees will be based on an hourly charge of $110.00 per hour, with a minimum of 4-hours
per day. Any work that exceeds 8-hours in the same day, after hours, weekends, or
holidays will be at 1.5 times the hourly rate ($165.00).
This proposal is valid, binding, and capable of acceptance by the El Segundo Fire
Department for 90 days from the date of submittal. We welcome any request to provide
