Through a series of emails, the Board of Park Vista learned today that the City has "postponed" our Park Vista State of the Union presentation that had been agendized for 5/17 because we do not agree to make two edits required by some City officials. We were asked to make these edits on Thursday and objected over the weekend. This presentation was shared with the City at our March 23rd monthly board meeting and again on April 27 at which we shared with the residents of Park Vista that it was final. We are told that the presentation is not in keeping with our charters. We disagree. You may recall, this is the second time that the City has informed the Board that changes need to be made to our presentation and the second time being told to do so within days of the meeting. Last year, the (at that time) City Manager changed our presentation for us and we objected. We presented and, as I recall, a number of you thanked us for our clarity and directness. We ask that the City reconsider and enable us to present tomorrow as is. If City Staff wishes to start the presentation and explain what they find inconsistent, we welcome that. Please advise. Finally, if the City requires that the Board presents only what city staff approves of or believes to be consistent with our charters, a few of us will doubtless resign from the Board. Paul PS I apologize for the lack of brevity of this email and any waste of your valuable time. Paul Lanyi 310.686.0077
