Standard Works Project Budget Augment Request No. 1
MIG is requesting a budget augment of $10,325 to cover out of scope costs for
revisions to the Initial Study (Task 4 — Prepare Draft IS/MND - original budget $2,000).
Our contract calls for two review cycles of the Initial Study. We have already submitted
3 versions of the document (7-26, 8-25, and 9-7). The first two versions went to CSG
staff while the third version went to the City Attorney. Both times there were extensive
comments or corrections, much of it wordsmithing or format changes that rearranged
the information but did not change much on the content, (e.g., taking out headings for
each paragraph that identified info from the SHSP EIR, SPA, and Development
Projects but still keeping much of the same info). The latest revisions from the attorney
ask for more basic information to introduce each environmental topic.
Due to the extensive nature of the comments on the first two versions, we are
approximately $2,900 over the original $2,000 budget to dates for that task. We
estimate it will take approximately 45 hours @ $165/hour or $7,425 to complete the
revisions and additional review necessary to have it ready for public review. Due to the
most recent extensive comments, we expect one more round to review our responses
to the attorney's comments (total 5 cycles instead of 2).
Current Overage $ 2,900
Additional Work (45 hours @ $265/hour) 7,425
TOTAL $10,325
Therefore, the total cost of our requested budget augment at this point would be
$10,325 ($2,900 current overage plus $7,425 additional work).
