Regular updates will continue to be provided. Scott Mitnick City Manager From: Allen, Michael <mallen@elsegundo.org> Date: Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 12:03 PM To: Mitnick, Scott <smitnick@elsegundo.org> Subject: Home Share Pilot Program Update Scott, As we close out the first month of the Home Share Pilot Program, I wanted to provide a brief update. As of today, we have received one (1) formal application (received this week), and have had approximately 3-S general inquiries over the phone or at the counter regarding participation in the program. Prior to the initiation of the pilot program, staff (via the vendor monitoring and implementing the program, Granicus) issued compliance notices to approximately 70 known hosts in El Segundo, requiring that they remove any posting or advertising until the pilot program began. During the first week of October, staff issued follow up notices to all known interested parties, including the approximately 70 known hosts that the pilot program was underway, that the Home Share Pilot Program was now accepting applications. Consequently, several known hosts have removed their listings, and we have seen an underwhelming response to the kickoff of the pilot program. Next week, staff (via Granicus) will be escalating enforcement, sending the second/final notice to all known hosts. Further non-compliance (i.e. removal of the listing, or participation in the pilot program) within 10 days will result in citation and fines up to $5,000 per occurrence. I will continue to keep you apprised as we progress through the pilot program. Thanks, Scott From: Mary and Edward Hersh <emhershod pmail.com> Date: Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 12:02 PM To: ALL ELECTED OFFICIALS <ALLELECTEDOFFICIALS else undo.or > Subject: Covid Vaccine Mandates needed The Health Club that I patronize is the Bay Club in El Segundo, and I want to make you aware that they do not enforce mask mandates within the gym. They have signs, but there is a complete absence of enforcement. No one from management reminds people of the need to wear masks in the building. For this reason, and because it is an important aspect of public health, I request that the City Council of El Segundo pass an ordinance to require vaccine mandates at all gyms and health clubs in El Segundo. The Bay Club in Pacific Palisades and those in Northern California require vaccine mandates so this would be an easy transition for the club in El Segundo. But, they won't do this unless forced to by a government agency. Thank you for bringing this to the attention of those with the authority to do this. Edward Hersh, M.D. 310-621-5488
