Subject: QUESTION for meeting
Can I please have a list of everything toxic we have been exposed to?
If you also have a daily log of the levels of exposure/areas monitored, that will help as
well.
I am not finding everything I need online, or by calling or emailing. We should have
had immediate transparency for our families health safety.
Thank you,
Traci

Subject: Public Comment: Agenda Item #5 (Special Presentations: Hyperion and AQMD Update)
Greetings,
At last Friday's El Segundo Environmental Committee meeting, we were told Hyperion communicated to the City of El
Segundo staff they're back at normal operating conditions. The plant is not back to normal operating conditions. It still
smells like poop and bleach at night time and in the early morning. I have been calling the AQMD on a frequent basis,
but it usually takes over 3 hours for a call back phone call and by then, the smell has dissipated. During city council
meetings we are also being told that the City of Los Angeles has been responsive and good partners, but as a resident
living on the west side, I would beg to differ. Many residents are concerned that we are now living in the "new normal"
and this is unacceptable.
At the last city council meeting, we were also told by the AQMD they will not be paying for or managing fenceline
monitoring. My question to the AQMD is where is the violation money going because at this point, it appears money is
just funneling from one government agency to another with no end in sight. We would like fence line air monitoring
made a priority since we are approaching month four and we still have not been given an anticipated timeline.
Thank you,
Corrie Zupo

Council Members,
It is Tuesday morning, September 21st and, unfortunately, it still smells. Even on the east side of town. So I am really
hoping that tonight's Hyperion update is not a report saying that everything is operating normally. If this is normal, it's
just nowhere near acceptable.
We understand that you are working hard to exert pressure on an agency we do not have agency over. But there must
be more that we can do collectively. Please tell your constituents the plan for ensuring Hyperion makes the necessary
improvements to not only remedy this situation but guarantee it will not happen again. And lead us in expediting the
installation of an air monitoring station so our community knows real-time and continuous readings.
Thank you for your time and your effort, Michelle Keldorf
