Dear ESUSD Board, Citizen's Oversight, and Facilities Committee:
As a voter. I believe that a STEM education imparts an understandina of our local hvdrolo
and climate resilience on students, parents and generations to come. Whether we take a
progressive stand in climate resilience, or follow God's version of beauty through nature over
structure: cherishing biodiversity means we educate our community so that where impacts to
oxen space can so easily be avoided as the Center Street Middle School Gym alternatives
they are. Where ignorance exists —or special interests, we stand together as a community and
share our diverse understandings in a transparent discussion.
Nature is the most beautiful and STEM adapted classroom we can offer our students, and
because love teaches through action, the neighbors who want to support our schools are
speaking for the environment, and nature. We have volunteered our time, and our skills to
seek the best in our community.
Leadership is not determined by our politics, but our actions.
If you implement nations la/b. or 2a/b you will deliver more environmentally sound. fiscall
responsible, and social) y harmonious solutions for CSMS than option 3 alb, which builds out
up to 50 percent of our community view shed on Center Street. This is at a time we are
increasing population density, enrollment and traffic on one of two major police throughfares.
Seek local Environmental guidance shiould there be anv question of wha this means to heat
islands, pedestrians, cyclists, and environment.
As alwaYs, I look forward to supporting your educational leadership in our community as
environmental efforts, in future funding applications, and as an example of an innovative STEM
solution at CSMS.

--------- Separate comments below:
To Mayor Boyle's:
How will unanswered City impacts including traffic, heat island, and imperviousness be
addressed as increased density buildings are approved on Sepulveda, Smoky Hollow, and
Center Street?
To: ES Planning and Public Works:
How do we show environmental leadership, meet LID goals, Citywide, and at CSMS?
To ES Environmental Committee:
How will you guide the Educational facilities program to a sustainable and "STEM" worthy
solution?
To Parents, Teachers, Friends:
Will we act with love and transparency for the environmental, social and economic benefits of
our community, or defer our roles to those who will assure us their actions and negotiations are
in our best interests?
With love and support for my neighbors, and community.
