CONTRACT 5892A Amendment CLOSEDAgreement No. 5892A Agreement No. FIRST AMENDMENT TO PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT NO. 5892 BETWEEN THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO AND MANAGEMENT PARTNERS CORPORATION This first Amendment is entered into this 1 st day of September, 2020, by and between the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a municipal corporation and general law city ("CITY") and MANAGEMENT PARTNERS CORP., an Ohio Corporation ("CONSULTANT"). The parties agree as follows: Pursuant to Section 35 of the Agreement between the parties, Section I(C) of the Agreement is amended to increase the amount of the contract by $90,000, so that the total not -to -exceed amount of the Agreement is $139,000. 2. This Amendment may be executed in any number or counterparts, each of which will be an original, but all of which together constitutes one instrument executed on the same date. Except as modified by this Amendment, all other terms and conditions of Agreement No. 5314 remain the same. Our current contract will be expended this month. Our lead consultant on the engagement is Special Advisor Donna Peter. We have prepared this memorandum to outline our understanding of the scope of work for the extended contract along with our proposed contract augmentation. The current contract is not to exceed $49,000 and we are proposing an augmentation of $90,000, for a new not -to -exceed amount of $139,000. Proposed Scope of Services • Provide advice to the Deputy City Manager who has key responsibility for human resources; • Provide advice and assistance in creating and implementing a plan of action for the Human Resources Department to address top priorities for improving department service delivery, with established tasks, timelines, and measures of success; • Provide advice on effective approaches to performance management; • Develop recommendations for change and improvement in the HR Department, focusing on goals, roles, systems, processes, communication, accountability, and customer service; • Provide assistance on projects identified by the City Manager, including addressing workload and capacity issues; and, • Review and analyze a report prepared by HR Dynamics & Performance Management Inc. to the City of EI Segundo, identify the top eight to ten priorities for attention by the Human Resources Department, and establish a timeline for implementation. Fees and Contract Terms We propose an augmentation in the amount of $90,000, for a new not -to -exceed amount of $139,000. The additional contract capacity will provide approximately 600 hours of consulting assistance to carry out the outlined scope of work. The terms in the existing contract will remain in effect. Conclusion We would be pleased to extend our expert human resources consulting assistance to the City of EI Segundo.
