I do hope my email finds you all well and taking care of each other. And your families.
I also trust you will decide to keep things as is and grandfather responsible hosts into this new local legislation.
(Please continue all those that abuse a great service)
Please let me kindly remind all of you that this happened because of one woman renting to folks wanting to
party in a residential area so she can make lots of profits, not just to survive like many of us.
Because of the virus, Hosts have stopped renting to others, and there's a huge need for affordable places to stay.
I have provided a safe, clean, affordable place to stay. I have also cut my prices to half and still donated back to
guests/people in need. I have felt such reward giving back, and I don't want my ability to host people to be
decided by the city. Sorry. I work part-time and need this revenue to pay my mortgage. I've lived here for 25
years, and I don't want to lose my home while I'm supporting a responsible business. Maybe the city should
take a survey of all my neighbors. Every single one of them and ask them how they, feel, and if's a disturbance.
Are we afraid that people of color of other ethnicities will come to our city? I hope not, and I hope all come. I
have had every flavor, color, gender of folks stay with me and they are equal. Manhattan beach di so because
... we know why. We are not MB. We welcome all. They all respect the rules; they all respect my space and
mostly respect our city. I have had MD's trying to get back to their countries, children at universities trying to
get home, month-long, two month-long visits, mom and actor waiting for a house to close and so much more.
We, I provide a great service, and I will NOT BE HOUSE SHARING BECAUSE OF COVID. I do not mind
paying a tax, owner -occupied, provide parking (even though most use uber), but please don't restrict how many
can rent and the number of units and if they should be in my home. What is that going to solve except to limit
my business and income with an essential service because the city will decide what we cannot do or can do
without all the information? Please forgive my abruptness. I am just a small business trying to survive like
many in this city and especially during this difficult time. This is NOT THE TIME TO GIVE US
RESTRICTIONS. COVID HAS ALREADY DONE SO.
